well on mac there quicktime7. final cut, divxs own converter, ffmpegx. just for
starters and thats the easy ones.
on windows xp/vista don't know as i intend to stay virus free with out needing 3
updates a month.
1. i prefer it in english and it is not available where i live
2. i want to see the new episodes as soon as they are aired
we have to wait at least a year to see it and it is dubbed. crap.
however, i think the sg1 show is cancelled for many reasons. but one reason may
be this piracy we do. yes i am guilty as well as you. however if mgm would
legally offer these episodes prompt as they are for an acceptable fee, like
2-3-4 usd/episode i would certainly pay that amount to legally download an episode.
anyway in my country downloading copyright material is not a crime as long as i
not sell it or distribute it as a whole. but i still would prefer the pay per
download episodes. if mgm will not move, they will extinct as well as all other
studios. bad for them but bad for us too because we will loose these shows.
so it is common interest to find a way, but i agree the ball is now at the
studios to make the first step. maybe we should let them know that we would pay
2-3-4 usd/episode. would we?
lupolen
yes plz if u can give me some specifics for me to do this
myself...
(before you start, if you need the mp3 audio codec you can get it here: http://nimo.titanesk.com/modules/freecontent/content/filemirror/dl.php?mid=14
on the install be sure to deselect everything but the fraunhofer codec.) to see
if you need it open vd goto: audio => "full processing mode" then audio
=> "compression..." select mpeg layer 3 and make sure you have 128kbps 48,000hz
stereo setting.
for virtualdub:
1. open the file (if it gives you the xvid message get this: http://www.inmatrix.com/files/avic_download.shtml ,open the avic.exe, load the
video, type: divx in both boxes and hit apply. now you can open it in vd)
2. goto: audio => select "full processing mode"
3. goto: file => "save wav..." and save the audio.
4. goto: audio => select "no audio"
5. goto: video => "filters..." click "add..." dbclick "resize" and set to 624
width, 352 height and bilinear filter mode. then "ok", "ok".
(resolution size based on these hr eps 960x544)
if you have 40gb of free harddrive space then you can do step 6. if not goto 9.
6. goto: file => "save as avi..." and save. this should save it fully
uncompressed (about 40gb) which will give you the best recompression quality.
7. open the new file.
8. goto: video => filters, select the resize and remove it, then "ok"
9. goto: audio => "wav audio..." and load the wav you saved earlier.
10. goto: audio => "compression..." select mpeg layer 3 then 128kbps 48,000khz
stereo.
11. playback the video in vd to see if the audio is in sync, if not goto: audio
=> "interleaving..." and enter 300 in the audio skew correction box. adjust it
more or less depending on how far off it is, but these hr files have so far
always been 300ms off.
12. to save quality skip to the fade out after the "executive producers" credit
click the [mark in] button (the 2nd one from the right side, looks like a half
arrow pointing left)
13. skip to the end and click the [mark out] (the one pointing right) and hit
delete. make sure you are at the end of the video.
14. goto: video => "compression..." select divx or xvid codec whichever you
prefer. for divx: click "configure" set rate control to "multipass, 1st pass"
click the calculator icon, enter the duration to the decimal point that vd says
in the background, set filesize to 350mb and audio bitrate should already be
128. click "accept". goto the codec tab and set encoding mode to "insane
quality" if you have the free version of divx this will default the the highest
setting enabled in the free version. click, "ok", "ok". for xvid settings i
don't know, i have never used it.
15. 2nd to last step: goto: file => "save as avi..." before you save check
the, "don't run this job now..." box.
16. go back to the divx compression settings and set the rate control
to, "multipass, nth pass"
17. goto save as avi again, don't change the filename you used before, check
the "don't run this job now..." box and hit save.
18. now you can run the compression, goto: file => "job control..." and
click "start"
depending on your machine this can take awhile, the computer i use for encoding
takes about 3.5 to 4hrs to complete both passes. it is a 2ghz p4 , 1gb ram with
a geforce fx 5700ve, agp 4x, 256mb video card.
hope this helps ya. 😉 there are easier programs, but this is what i use to get
the best quality. it sounds like alot, but you get used to it pretty quickly.
hi all, this is my first post...woohoo!
trouble is i have a problem with
"stargate atlantis s03e19 hr hdtv ac3 2 0 xvid-nbs" this file.
i got it ok, but the audio is about 1/2 a second out, that is very annoying...i
use windows media player classic to view the episode.
can you help?
do i need an-other codec?
