i had a rant last ep about how next to absolutely-bloody-nothing has thus far happened in this show,
and everyone was like, dude, have patience. but once again this episode comprised little more than
lots of deep and meaningful talking and hand-holding and life-affirming dribble. spielberg, the master of
mawkish. it's farcical that this show gets renewed for a second season when an interesting, original
show like lone star got axed after two eps. anyone remember terriers? and i know many out there
never got over firefly. this show is bollocks. boring bollocks. over-directed bollocks. the
words 'annoyingly wholesome' also come to mind. but thank you to the uploader. my ten-year-old
enjoys it, and i think that age cohort is about where this is pitched.
really now, the only reason i watch this is because there is nothing else to watch except true blood
and maybe haven.
this show reminds me of seventh heaven. it's all about family in the most unrealistic way. jesus!
it's a post apocalyptic world and i don't see any survival instinct. and the stupidity of the show
is beyond words. i mean, they take motorbikes, but not any kind of spares, oil etc. there is still
electricity but probably most people have to live without it in tents. so what they do? they burn
their precious candles under the photos of their children. and the super advanced aliens cannot
detect groups of less than 300 people? is this a sci fi show or children playing alien invasion in
the back yard?
and what about the characters? everything they do, is out of the blue. even the aliens. on one
episode they are ruthless enough to kill all the kids in the group and on the next one, another
alien behaves like a loving parent. this is not v. the aliens don't talk. if they want to show that
some aliens are opposed to the invasion, they chose the wrong kind of aliens to do it.
maybe the show will get better and fix some things that don't make sense but i doubt they will
change the family character they want the show to have but they have already failed in this
department too. this has nothing to do with war of the worlds.
it makes me wonder how many of you will watch terra nova, spielberg's new show? i am really worried
that the first thing people will do on the new planet is say grace.
it's bad news for tv and for the world , i dare to say, when shows like this get renewed and
realistic ones about the human nature, like jericho, get canceled. i would really like to see the
demographics for falling skies cause i have the feeling most are over 60 years old.
