is this shite still being broadcast??! obviously the answer is a dissapointing
yes...
no sense of humor, no ability to put their sour predispositions on hold, no ability to suspend
disbelief, no imagination, and always finding faults to obsess over... i feel sad for such people.
perhaps science will find a cure, some day.
i love low budget, quirky, unusual-yet-traditional shows, and the fact is, for a low budget show,
this one is fantastic. if you need the benefits of massive budgets in order to enjoy a show, that's
a big loss for you. you really don't know what you're missing out on.
well said esign; everyone is entitled to their opinion. my opinion remains that this is shite, regardles of
the budget (which i do not recall mentioning at any time). mainly due to the poor quality action & acting
and of course the low budget...
its a fun show.....dont take it too seriously. its on early evenings in the uk so its for kids and "big kids".
fans of "serious" scifi like battlestar and caprica will probably hate it (maybe i am the exeption). also
hanna spearritt is worth watching
i don't understand why there are so many complaints. if you don't like it, don't watch it.
the actors are fine for a not-too-serious british show and they get better every episode, some were already great in the
first episode (ben miller - james lester for example, he might not have a complicated role, but he portraits it very well
since episode 1). don't forget that's is also a little bit of comedy flavored and not to be taken too serious.
i also don't get where you guys get the low-budget from. it costs about 600k pounds/euros per episode to make (which i
read somewhere, and it's probably even over a million). to me that's not low budget whatsoever and the cgi is better
than any show i have ever seen. the creatures are very detailed and the animation is over the top. they also don't
seem to reuse scenes very much like other shows do. walking with dinosaurs for example, a now rather old show,
repeated the same scenes of dinos all the time. also many other similar shows do the same trick. with primeval i never
feel like i've seen a scene repeat itself too much.
the decors are also not to be called cheap or simple and it doesn't seam like they cut back on anything. the interaction
with the creatures looks flawless, when they hold rex it really seems like all shadows are perfect. and he's damn cute
too!
maybe in the first season they didn't get the details right to the max, but you can't expect that from a new show. when
watching season 2 episodes my jaw started dropping further and further.
the storyline is far from boring and it's hard to predict what's going to happen (i'm currently at s04e01). it's complicated
and well written for a wide audience if you ask me.
also, i enjoy bsg and other serious sci-fi shows a lot. this is a welcome addition to the list. compared to sanctuary this
looks way better and has a much better story and humor.
ok, i must admit that season 5 is a little bit worse than the others.. it does seem like the budget is lowered, but at least the
story is still nice, right? 🙂 i won't stop enjoying this show.
