the use of a rational argument re the use of different formats, file size, equipment or software, to
view them is nearly always interesting. unfortunately the use of invective and foul language does
not help to further the posters pov. it only highlights their lack of lack of a sufficient
vocabulary and ability to form their argument properly. perhaps a course in the correct use of the
english language would be helpful with a dose of maturity thrown in.

on another point regarding file size, i live in area of the world that is not blessed with a high
bandwidth or a reliable connection and rely on the smaller file sizes to obtain the programmes i
wish to watch. even then it can take many hours just to download one file.

i have just managed to write a post without resulting to foul language or insulting anyone directly.

personally i don't like mkv because of it's size, also when i had an old computer they were playing
slowly and constantly tried to stop.
for those who watch episodes on pc - use gom player, km player, or vlc and install k-lite codec pack.
then you should be able to play this video just fine.

hmm, nobody has mentioned it yet but surely it comes down to what you are playing it on?

huge t.v / monitor = mkv
normal monitor / small t.v = .avi

am i missing something? why would you get .mkv if you have say... a 17-21 inch monitor etc..?

downloaded this by mistake was already half down when i realized that it was the 720p mkv version the good news is it
plays fine in mpc home cinema and is the correct length in time
mpc-hc x64 on win7 x64 on hd5770 4gb ram pii x4 940

simply download on my pc and watch on my tv without all this bs. who bloody cares that you have mkv

i dont remember what the program is called, but theres a program that can convert mkv into raw, which
ps3 can play (with the same quality)

to convert an mkv to a vob file that will play without problems on ps3.

mkv is just the container file format, reproduction and conversions are made from the h.264 source video
so no excuse there. mkv is probably the best file format container there is, you can even embedd xvid
video in it. if you can't play mkv on any of your devices, blame ms or sony or any other industry that has
issues with using open standards in favor for closed ones with licences and fees.
