not surprised hellcats wasn't picked up but nikita averages better than gossip girl and 90210 so am
surprised it wasn't picked up early too, unless there are other factors causing the delay (eg.
production cost).
i don't watch one tree hill but it too averages better than the other two (and slightly better than
nikita) and it wasn't picked up either.
why hasn't nikita been picked up yet? what is cw waiting for. cw, do not become like the morons in
syfy. it was moronic at syfy to cancel great show like stargate universe.
some shows are pretty much dead cert to be re-upped.. with others the networks hold back to see what
kind of furore kicks off about it not being renewed yet.
sometimes they just like to build anticipation for the show by waiting it out.
other times its down to costing (seeing where they can make cuts) or waiting to see how well the show
franchise requests build.
sometimes they get it right, but more often they seem to get it wrong these days.
sg:u has gone the way of many shows before it. by the time people start to actually get involved, it's too
late to rescue it.
great news about supernatural, hats off to cw.....but i really hope they improve the episodes, don't
get me wrong season 6 is ok, and it must be tough to follow on from the epicness of season 4 and
first half of 5, but the show has been slipping ever so slightly....
wow! women must be lame duck targets for advertizing, as in: paralyzed from the neck up. on cw,
smallville is #1 on total viewers, #2 on average 18-49 ratings, but #9 on women 18-34. so they're
cancelling it. jeez... how easy targets must young women be, to cause such a strong focus on them?
also amusing, how on earth does smallville rank that high on the average 18-49 rating? women 35-49
and men 18-49 must be seriously hooked on it. pretty counter intuitive, to me, and indicative of the
degree of brain paralysis being gender and age independent, the only difference being in the form of
the outcome. as a grown man, it ranks extremely low among things i'd be caught watching, be that
alive or dead.

i'm also guessing that production cost factors in. also, i find it hard to believe that there is such a
thing as a network executive even bothering to try to be intelligent, but, if they have one around,
there may be some attempt at evaluating the potential with regard to storyline and future
developments in fanbase and followers. i'm sure they'll screw it up, but, in spite of that, it would
be fascinating to watch them try.

smallville was supposed to end this year, there was no more will they won't they renew it, it was
pretty much clear from the get go this would be the last year. can't remember if the actors wanted
out or the creators/producers. so in this case this had little to do with the ratings.

yeah well, although i am a women, i can't watch smallville anymore either, the first few seasons
were great, but after lex luthor left it went downhill fast with the storylines.

anyway, splendid news for supernatural!
yeah! totally with you on this one, but they couldn't afford to let this one go while they still
have the chance to renew it.
i've been disappointed by supernatural throughout all of season 6. i bet it would require a really good set
of story writers to turn that season's disaster around. supernatural was meant to end with season 5. but
fans wanted more, so they got more, but with less throughput.

it's got much better as it's gone on though. the first few eps were dire, and they did make loads of changes
to try to recover from it. looks like its gonna end with a bang tho, and come out punching for s7..
