i think you forget that you supposedly need a special stargate to reach all that way, and they did
not have one once the alternative-timeline ship was abandoned.

also, since they keep records do you think the descendants want to visit earth anyway? they heard
all about it.. president trump.. let's just not go there, these people are insane and will probably
end up nuking us..

now if you want to talk peculiarities: how come the fashion didn't change much in centuries? how
come the crew of the destiny runs out of anything and everything except lipstick and makeup? 🙂

i have to agree with you there highlander! is the one guy from novas the same actor that was in free willy?
also i love sgu, its easily my favorite show.

man, some poeple are just too picky. i mean sg1&a were super camp, and fun and all, but no where
near that big of deal to get all worked up about. now as a long time fan of the franchise, i think
this one is the best installment yet. plus i know quite a few harder scifi fans who actually enjoy
it while they loathed 1 & a.



well they'd still at least need an 'icarus' type planet. which could be quite hard to find depending
on the structure of their galaxy. but they probably needed destiny too, as the 9th chevron was a ship
indicator i believe(of which we only know of destiny). what i found more odd was the fact that they
waited to build any ships till after the gate was destroyed (plus lack of orbital surveying
would make it even harder to find an icarus). and that they weren't able to completely evac the
planet by gate, and that it just happen to go to hell when destiny showed up, was a worse macguffin
than the extra destiny for parts one.

i pretty much threw out the idea of sg having strong attempts at realistic science consistency with
grand narrative concepts when they threw out the language barrier in sg1.

one angle that i hope to see from the last two remaining episodes of sg universe is something that we
might have gotten a small peak at during the last few seconds of this episode when the planet novis
people were taking off in their space ship. what does everyone think about the angle that it looks
similar to the ancients war ships from atlantis shows but smaller.. wouldnt it be interesting if somehow
the crew of one or all of these ships went further back in time (millions of years from that advancing
black hole mentioned in this show) and created what the series writters have been dreaming about
since the first sg1 show aired so many years ago, and that being we are the ancients. destiny was
created so the ancient race could be born and the hidden background message was actually created by
us. rush realized this and thus never mentions much about it to the other crew other than the ship was
created for a reason.. possibly the final show could be a reunion with the other ships from novis and
using the supplies taken (hyper extended air supplies and other goodies that rush never showed) is
exactly the ingredients to take destiny and her crew and survivors back to earth or as the show sg
atlantis stated that pegasis galaxy is were the ancients started from and expanded. interesting to see
destiny end up back in this galaxy millions of years ago and start what will be the greatest race in
history.. just an idea and thats what sci fi is all about - dreaming..
