while i see a high likelihood of this show being canceled, i don't agree with your contract
assessment. the actors were contracted for this season and so far there is no renewal of the
contract, they are under no obligation to wait for it to be canceled as there is no contract.

trust me, there are contract clauses in place that prohibit them from signing onto another show until the
show is dead, same with all tv shows.

and in most instances, the initial contract is actually for 5-7 seasons for series regulars - regardless of
whether or not the show lasts that long. hence why shows start becoming expensive after that - for the first
5-7 years, there is no salary increases...but then they start renewing contracts 1 year at a time. every time
they renew a contract, they have to increase the salary so each year it gets more and more expensive.

education relies on facts, i have not seen any actual facts posted in this thread by you. so until
you can back it up with facts from the production company or from the network that indicate the
series is definitely being cancelled then it's all hearsay. and if you truly do work in 'the
industry' as you claim (something i very highly doubt mind you) then you know this fact as well as
i do even though i don't work in 'the industry'.

after watching the episode, i can assure you that reading the comments section has been more fun than
the actual show! =]

here's the problem with what you are saying. if they are under a 5 to 7 year contract obligation
and they have now gone off on other projects, why would the network not have announced the
cancellation as it must be obvious, by your theory? what benefit is there to not announce the end?

it's not a theory. a perfect example would be steve carrell with the office. he declared he was
contemplating leaving the show when his contract expired at the end of the 2010-11 season in may
2010, and as i presume you all know that has ended up being the case now that his contract has
expired...the contract being the initial contract he signed when the show started.

the benefit is simple ... less people will watch a show they know is canceled. hence why most cancellations are left until the may upfront presentations...when everything is finished airing. it's good
business. you either get it or you don't.

fair enough i can't back my comments up with factual evidence, it's all coming from personal knowledge
of how the business works and i can understand the fact that none of you can rely on my personal
knowledge. people made comments about whether or not the show would be renewed, and i proceeded
to do the same, providing my knowledge of how things work and what is, in my eyes, the most certain
outcome. if you don't wish to agree, then fair enough. i'm sure there's people who have read my
comments and thought...yeah, that makes sense, he's probably right. and clearly there are those of you
that have read it and disagreed. i'm simply trying to educate you with information.

in all fairness, everything i've said is likely researchable on google - the contractual obligations, why
they delay announcing cancellations, etc. look it up if you're really that desperate to try and prove me
wrong.

jeez, all this hassle over trying to share knowledge.

thanks for sharing your insight nellum, some of the responses show that no good deed goes unpunished
i guess. it seems pretty common sense and straightforward to me. /shrug

awww poor nellum, i clearly said it is likely that the show will be canceled, just disagree with
your contract post. no one is trying to prove you wrong about cancellation, but if you feel
persecuted here's a soother for you. 😛

looks like i'm one of few who loves this show then ;-)

i like the powel family(i have always liked michael chiklis) and lets face it, daphne (kay
panabaker) is sooooo pretty<3 :3

also love the humor in this show, hardly an episode goes by without a good laugh, add some really
cool super powers... and i don't see how can you go wrong ?;)

will really miss this show if they cancel it ☹️

i have to agree whit this. for example, when it was announced that "the cape" wasn't going to be
renewed, the ratings fall down (even more!!!). if they announce that for this show, the last episodes will
have less viewers.
