this is grade a bullshit.

syfy has nothing to do with the direct to dvd movies mgm is still interested in making. sgu's executive
producer joe malozzi has said repeatedly that the ratings of the back-half of season 2 will have no impact
on them trying to get some movies made.

syfy are douches , they cancelled all their sci-fi tv shows.

i thought sgu was decent and the latest episode was good overall, or at the very least more interesting
than eureka or warehouse 13 (the series syfy decided to stick with).

i guess the syfy next 'series' is a reality tv show about people trying to survive in a simulated alien
environment or trying to compete in a reality version of star-fleet academy. low cost to produce,
entertaining and smutty enough for the level syfy channel is slowly sinking to.

well at least they have haven or is that going away too?

kind of funny that now days the better science fiction tv is on other channels.

granted that the last episode was good, it doesnt really make up for the sucky writing and acting thats
been throughout the rest of the serie.
i have no love for some1 who changes sci fi into syfy but i agree with them that its highly unlikely a film
will be made, if one is made its prolly to tie up loose ends to end the show early

had this show aired on cw or any other channel, it would have fared 1000000x times better. however
having aired on a sci-fi channel which has wrestling (just to prove the incompetence of the people
running sy fy), it's no wonder it was getting bad ratings.

the acting and writing on the show were superb. the only people that don't think so are people that
can't get over the fact that it's a more character driven show. unless something goes 'pew pew' or
'boom' every 15 seconds, they think it's a bad show.

sgu was moving along at the pace of a giant turtle in its first season which turned a whole lot of
viewers away from the show. unfortunately, sgu evolved into something worth watching during the end
of season one ... but then it was way too late.

there is/was to little story in sgu, u cant compare it to sg1 with there 10 seasons and huge story lines
or atlantis. + 2 movies.

also the cast is made up of mostly b actors and fillers from other shows. tho there are some good
onces between them.

this doesnt mean i dont enjoy it, i look forward to evry ep, (hoping chloe dies evry week), but the
go'ald/ori stories were so epic. sgu feels to forced, the best part is the search for the origin of life, all
the alien crap is to messy and that the crew stills prays to "god" is just hilarious, after evrything that
happened they should know better, the writers i mean.

has anyone told them that there is a world out side the usa like 210 million watch sgu each week
and what about primeval they finished the show with two series or is sy fy channel scared to
maybe they are the bbc achieved big ratings with the revival of primeval in conjunction with abc
and german tvsgu is science fiction not a comedy any rattle head can do comedy or
police, medical shows but science fiction is an art it is not just the actors but all the other
things that make it great . so sadly we have to suffer the reality shows o great stupidity rules
i am a big fam of sg and also star trek so bring it back

not really the pace, more of the fact that it seemed the writers avoided taking the plot to more interesting
places which they had ample opportunity to do with the scenarios they created, it simply felt like they were
not exploring their options which left a sense that both the acting and writing were not very believable in
these situations because we , the viewers could see the characters making a more reasonable choice for
themselves in these situations.

also these fake reality show moments where the characters talk to the camera about what they are going
through was more of a time wasting unwelcome addition: the only reason the reality format of talking to
the camera works in other shows are , its either real drama(top chef and project runway) or its
funny(mockumentarys like the office).
sure in some cases it helps to understand the characters but most of the time it just feels like an unnecessary emo moment that seems forced.

the show only started to pull itself together during these last episodes which is unfortunate

why do you hate chloe? shes hot and a conflict for the pathetic eli nerd 😛

praying to god in that context is just a figure of speech like "dear god" or "god help us all" doesn't mean
there is really a belief in god, its just a form of expression nowadays.

just because sy fy has decided to cancel sgu doesn't mean another company wont pick them back up.
however it might be all tied back to ratings. if ratings suck a s s than i suppose they wouldn't. but for the
tv show primeval.. a company dropped them and 2 years later they are back and stronger than ever...

heres the only thing i can say towards people like myself who download torrents.
yes we all love no commercials

but

if your at home busy doing other stuff and don't have time to turn on sgu so u rather download it later. i
don't care. turn on your tv and turn it back off when the show is done on tv. thats the only way that show
will be reconsidered. please tell others to tune in on show night. still download if you wish but tune in!

i have loved all stargate tv shows and movies. i still want more!

primeval is kind of sucky on the writing front so i wouldn't exactly say stronger than ever.

i would be happy if sgu gets picked up by bbc or something on the condition that they get a new editor
to help the writers out(preferably someone who had absolutely nothing to do with either primeval or
outcasts because these two shows are alot worse than sgu).

just to clear one thing up, primeval is/was produced for itv, not by the bbc. whilst i believe bbc
america have broadcast it, in the us, don't automatically assume that they're the producer. i believe
someone said something similar about "the listener", recently, commenting how ctv had saved it after
the us channel cancelled it; it was a ctv production in the first place, just picked up for broadcast in
the us.

is this ratings based only on us viewers?
because australia has a big fan base for scifi too. it saddens me to see all these show get
canceled. will have to finance our own scifi in australia. but no farscape.

with the exception of rda, who was an a level actor on sg1 when it started? i don't remember anyone
being particularly well known. the same is true with sgu except that they have more rda level
actors. robert carlyle, lou diamond phillips, ming na, patrick gilmore, and many others have done
great jobs in sgu and on other projects.

i still say the only reason sgu was cancelled is because it was airing on a failing channel. sy fy
is run by incompitent people, and the channel is probably nearing the end of it's broadcast life.
why else would they resort to airing wrestling on a science fiction channel?

had sgu been on a channel like the cw i'm sure it would have gone on at least 5 seasons if not more.

if thats really the case someone would already pick it up..

about the actors, i know that charismatic a list actors can teach the "newbie" actors and pull the overall
acting in a production to a higher level but i heard from more than a couple of people in my family(sg1-
fans all of them) that robert carlyle's character(the a list actor on the show) is mostly annoying on the
lead role so id say in this case it kind of backfired on the production.

you could compare dr.rush with dr.house, ari gold and hank moody , all of them are morally gray 40+
characters with flaws that could make them pathetic or annoying but the latter three are funny and have
powerful lines so they can start their own fan-clubs while dr.rush who is humorless and uncharismatic is
just seen as an annoying know-it-all that the viewers don't really like.

i feel bad for robert carlyle in that sense because i do believe that he is a good and capable actor, he
just landed in the wrong role this time, fell in the hands of bad writing..

the network doesn't have much say over the writing afaik and i think the writing is the main thing that
brought this show down and the reason half of the enthusiastic fan-base of stargate sg1 and atlantis
kind of lost interest...
you never really know how it came to that, maybe this has something to do with 😛

the writers started drafting stories for the first season in mid-november 2008.[8] the united states air
force and marine corps reviewed the scripts.[32]
