‘Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome’: Production Begins on Two-Hour Pilot

bg was a great show with an absolutely trilling story-line. yet, it is necessary to make another
prequel/sequel.
science-fiction is suppose to be about innovation. it is suppose to be taking us "where no one has
gone before..." yet, for a few decades now, every time something good comes along, we're assaulted
by prequels and sequels and the making of and the story under/over/beside/inside the story. worst
of it, the best of these shows could have stood easily on their own and the worst just deluded our
memories of the original. but i guess, it is easier to serve prefabricated settings than to make
new ones... or it is we that are more satisfied with tv diner than original meals?

to me it seems theyre just cashing in on whatever popularity is left of bsg. personally prequels are like having someone
tell me the end of a books story before i read . i lose alot of interest knowing how its all going to turn out. you know that no
matter the tough situation hes going to survive and its only the supporting cast thats in any real threat.

yeah, make a sequel. that's what i really want.

this might be what caprica should have developed into.

with a story arc that would not have moved along at the speed of a giant turtle, caprica would have
surely gotten to the point of young adama joining the colonial fleet and becoming a promising pilot
in galactica's viper squad. this could have happened around the third season ...

well from the sounds of it i think id rather have caprica back. but ill give it shot.

ok quick history lesson startrek enterprise three seasons verdict canceled, stargate atlantis five
seasons verdict canceled stargate universe canceled mid season will end at season 2, caprica
canceled mid season 2. do we see a patten here, this new version of young adama hum-mm i might take
a punt here canceled mid season 1......" a note for syfy channel did you bother to look at the world
wide viewing figures for stargate universe 202 million caprica 201 million now lets do the maths
universe 7-9 season box set at $150.us 202x$150.00=30300 million much the same amount for caprica.
what6 have you got donald trump and bill gates as your bank account. struth i think syfy needs to
sack the accounting team .

so syfy cancels caprica and then goes to create another prequel without ronald d moore. the only
common element i can see between bsg:b&c and bsgr is david eick though unofficially they claim rdm
also intially helped create bsg:b&c, i smell some sort of cold war in there on the production ?

i also agree with everything else said, i dont want another prequel and i don't see what good it is.

if you want to tell a new story then tell a new story, expanding on an exsisting story is not that interesting,
especially when it has to live up to battlestar reimagined that since became a sci-fi classic.
more and more it smells like something very screwed up is happening in the background of syfy(the name
change must be just the tip of the iceberg), i know its all business at the end of the day but business
without vision is a fail..

i'm not going to bother watching this until a 3rd season on principle: both because its yet another prequel
and because i think they will end up cancelling it anyway.

bottom line, from what i saw on the internets , they thought that people would rather watch shiny
cylons and vipers kicking arse. - and of course some bs drama in the young adama's life. btw i do
not like the actor that they've cast for adama .... i don't trust him :d

smallville = superman prequel.
and was a success. therefore everyone is hoping lightning will strike twice.
but in the end it seems "prequel" is synonymous with "young actors that belong on twilight".

roswell worked with a bunch of teen actors. but in the end it all seems like "battlestar: 90210"

let's remake knight rider
let's remake stargate
let's remake bionic woman
let's combine earth2 & primeval and call it terra nova.

why do i own a tv anymore? i watched today's *new* shows when i was a kid in the 70's and 80's -
when they were actually new.

the entire fraking universe is out there and these guys can't come up with a fresh idea.
