i'm downloading the documentary right now, seems like it might be interesting. my friend is a fairly
normal person outside of his crazy warcraft 3 obsession. it's like watching a delicate ballet of
keyboard/mouse movements.
and i'm eternally gratefully not to have to see a picture of a man's abs anymore. that was old after the
first week and just weird to see everytime i come back here to grab a t.v. torrent.
good docu , i think it was interesting to see the eccentric lives of the gamers and their resulting world
view.
kind of made me feel sorry for sky though.
i thought grubby's relationship with his hot girlfriend was kind of wierd/funny, its like shes not only his hot
girlfriend but also his strategic analyzer advisor who is into wc3 which seems way too good to be true.
what i was missing from this documentry is some outlook into the far future of these gamers and their
crazy lives. sure they have madfrog , but i felt his example was kind of weak beacuse he decided to leave
the gamer's career.
what happens if someone tries to remain a professional gamer for their entire career life?(18-40+)
is that even an option? or is inevitable that they all have to get a job guarding at a swedish prison?(lolz)
interesting to see how the chinese way of life behind the scenes is changing, or not. was that a
government official questioning people in the street, trying to find out how much he could tax the
family from the money sky was sending back home? bet that new suv the father was driving attracted a
lot of attention, especially with all the people he pissed off blowing his horn every two seconds.
i was wondering the same thing about the age
factor. seems like gaming is more about mental focus, multi-dexterous hand-eye coordination and
rapid twitch muscles than it is about cognitive skill. that would throw these
kids into the same category with gymnasts, and make them senior citizens in gamer years by the time
they reached twenty.
watched it...sucked! it doesn't know exactly what it is trying to say in this documentary so it
just meanders around like a kid at a convention hoping for something to magically happen. and it
never does find its way.
you get very little insight into the real culture of gaming in the different regions of
the world, nor do you spend much time with the main players (sky and g.) so when hardship does fall
upon them you don't really care.
this documentary is amateur hour at its dullest.
tell the documentary writer/director that the problem is they need a real
editor and a genuine point before you start to shoot a documentary. this is why nova/front
line/everyone else is respected and they are not.
they are respectable gaming documentaries out there. this is not one of them. don't waste your time.

terrible: 1/10 -- avoid it.
have to admit it was not good. still good to see criticsm of the content as opposed to the form and
presentation. reminded me of a dodgy channel 5 doc from 10 years ago. props for encouraging indie
docs but maybe not this particular one. it needed a narrative form or some kind of dramatic
structure. good 1st attempt, maybe next time.............
actually grubbie got cassandra right because he was a pro-gamer. (otherwise i don't see why she sticks
with him)
i found it entirely boring. it was extremely slow, there was no real story, a lot of scenes where we just
hear background noise and see computers/wow hero. really disappointing.
i thought this was about chess! the reference to kasparov threw me!
they are actually comparing chess to a video game?
same here 😛 seems the peeps here attacking these guys are more than a little jealous. attack the
show if you think it was badly made, don't watch it if you don't like the subject matter - but
making negative comments about the guys is a sign of your own lameness, not theirs. good luck to
them if they can make a living playing games. i used to write about games for a living but grew out
of it and joined the army, being a 20 something full time gamers is ok but when you hit your late
30's it starts to feel pretty lame telling ppl at parties that you play games for a living lol
the new justin beiber movie is more interesting than this piece. i got dragged by my daughter to
see it.
the foley sounds of the keyboard and mouse clicks in this documentary really pissed me off for some
strange reason. what was it about again? who knows; yucky yucky stuff!
you do know we don't get paid for these featured releases right?
we help vodo
reach a broader
audience with the videos they help get released by independant directors. they provide us with the
information and images, and we present it to you.
if you don't know about vodo, i suggest you check out their site:
i am rather disappointed by most of the comments on here. if you have nothing useful to say, post
about it somewhere else, let's try and keep the discussion respectable.
i thought i was being useful. torrentz dot com is promoting the same movie, but with a banner that
makes me wanna watch it...so i guess...thank you, to the other posters who have informed me that
this movie is not worth wasting time on, and to eztv for putting up a pic that makes this movie look
terrible.
if you want people to watch this movie, perhaps you could look and getting a new guy to choose the
pics u put on here to advetise it?...worth a shot? maybe use the same pic torrentz is using?
ummmm dude did you even read the post by novaking you just quoted??? he tells you the guys at
vodo chooses the images and information to display here....from what novaking said eztv has zero
control over how vodo chooses to promote the movie it wants to push in the banner spot.
turn the dial down on your trolling and actually pay attention to things other people say. but its fine i'm
sure once you hit puberty you'll get some more maturity.
