also, 73% of downloaders don't give a crap about the quality, getting it fast is their only goal.
of the remaining 27%, 89% want the highest quality version available and the rest wants the low
quality version because their computers can't play the hd version or because they don't have the
bandwidth/storage space (the latter also don't seed fairly in 86% of the cases).

you should release the high quality hd720p version first and then wait an hour or two for the low
quality sd351p version, to get more seeds from those who don't give a crap.

cut back on the sarcasm, i'm serious. statistics are created through a custom developed stats system
and surveys taken from a third party. there are much more scary things i can do with my tools, but
verifying data i provided first hand seems a rather daunting task, since you would likely want another
source that isn't me to back up my claim. i cannot provide you with such source, because i generated
and provided the data myself with tools i created and analytic data captured over the duration of
several months.

well, sorry to not conform with your analysis, but i am all about speed (73%) but i have never d/l'd
a 720p or 1080p, i will wait days for the xvid if that is required

what i'm saying was, if you could download the 720p version faster than the 351p version, you
probably would.


don't need to buy it, downloading a recording it is just more convenient than calling the studios for a
copy. and
downloading on eztv is more convenient than downloading from the scene with their crazy rar
archives, which again is more convenient than watching it live or setting up recording equipment in
foreign countries, it's also much easier to track how many people download stuff versus watching it
when it airs
on tv. congrats, the peak was 4% of the public ratings service for prime-time tv and 39% for a sci-fi
genre show. and that's all major p2p networks combined with all downloaders from all over the world.
only measuring usa/canada prime-time tv drops to 1.04% and sci-fi to 24%.

now i don't give a rats a** about who's downloading what, so rest assured noone's going to sue you for
downloading tv recordings.
