not that i'm not glad about them holding on to haven and warehouse13, but sgu was just getting super
exciting. syfy isn't one of those channels(i'm looking at you, abc) that mindlessly axes everything, so i
don't understand why. mediocre ratings is nothing new for syfy, and frankly i don't get how anyone can
ever cancel anything involving robert carlisle.
so this is sad, but i guess i shouldn't watch that much television anyway.

oh, man... that sucks. so now there will be no decent "off world" sci-fi series (with the possible
exception of doctor who)? or am i missing something? i suppose 11 or 12 years of the "stargate"
theme was more than one could hope for from the us, and this was inevitable, but i hope they fill
the gap with something soon...

i find it amazing that haven can continue - considering how unbelievably crap it is - and sgu is cancelled.
i've been bigging up this series a lot in the last few months. it's a shame, but syfy is obviously looking for
cheap mediocre hits rather than stuff that looks like it has a budget.

dissapointing news for us sg fans.

what took them so long? this show was such a radical change of direction for the stargate franchise
that is was almost bound to struggle unless it grabbed the audiences attention from season 1 episode
1. it failed to do so and it's amazing syfy took this long to drop it, guess they were afraid of all
the 'i told you so' messages from atlantis fans.

yet another stupid decision to cancel a good show, sgu was getting better and better and felt like it was finally getting
somewhere, robert carlyle was brilliant in it too.

they are holding onto other franchises? i thought syfy was a channel for wwe

hah hah! wwe, is fake yeah, but i don't think it falls into the sci-fi category.
not disappointed about sgu though. it was just another battlestar galactica. too much drama, not
enough sci-fi.

to be fair they did set up a 5 year story arc.
if you look at sg1 the main story lasted 8 seasons then their was that terrible 9th season where
they added most of the cast from farscape.

i would have liked to see sgu finish as their story arc was about as ambitious as it gets, the
meaning or creation of the universe.

so, the hokum titles (eureka, warehouse 13, both enjoyable to a degree, but hardly thinking
material) get renewed while the deeper shows (caprica for instance) where a bit of brain work is
required get cancelled. hardly bodes well for future development at syfy does it? maybe changing
the 'i's to gimmicky 'y's was an indication of where they were going. and why should they commision
a us version of being human when the uk version is very fine in its own right, thank you very much?

good riddance.

"it was just another battlestar galactica."

it was way too much like bsg. it even had characters like in bsg.

my personal "favorite" was that episode when they were stranded on alien planet with some amazing
underground tunnels and stuff and it was far more important to show flashbacks of that soldier's
life how he was abused by daddy and stuff than let them explore alien world.

good riddance, show like that.

they axe stargate but but leave up wwe smackdown what a load of crap thats it im boycotting syfy
until they get there act together and remaking an american verion of being human syfy has truly
sunken to a new low

it was the worst sg series anyway. it had little to do with the star gates anyway...

it's what they get for trying to merge stargate and bsg. if i wanted all the drama, i'd watch soap
operas.

wtf... you know i hated this show at first... even hated the concept. but after forcing myself to
sit through about 25% of s01 i started to like it. by the end of that season i loved it... liked it
even more than atlantis. and now things were really starting to get interesting. but no, its been
canceled while things like eureka, w13, and haven survive. who the hell is watching those shite
shows??? i dont understand... especially haven... it was about 20x better the first time when it was
called dresden files.
