dang. was biting sarcasm really necessary? you guys, not i, solicited ideas from the collective. i just
gave you what you asked for, a mere suggestion. that does not require a sarcastic response in return,
because you do not like, or do not agree with an honest suggesting given in an earnest attempt to
contribute to the community.

and no, i am not confused. i have a humble cable connection pretty much just like everyone else. but
that has not stopped me from getting as many of my favorite shows in hd as often as i can - many of
them i can't get in hd from eztv, and thought perhaps you guys would entertain the idea of expanding
your selection.

anyway, i'll shut up and leave now . . . i know where i'm not appreciated.

just a mere observation, however i believe request was for suggestions in the graphics and not the
content of the website. this in itself kinda gets me desiring to be sarcastic, however, instead, i am just
gonna state it like it is.

first off, the beginning request stated, content was not what was being asked for in the suggestions
department, just suggestions in the layout, and graphical style. it may have even been fine if a mere
statement of 'i wouldn't mind more 720p programming', but instead, there's a tyrannical article stating
in way too many words that eztv should be ashamed for not having such content. i am like beside
myself trying to figure out how people like that still exist.

eztv does an extroadinary job, utilizing volunteers as they can get them, and not
asking for donations in return. in fact, flat out refusing them. not only do they do that, but they don't
even require users, to keep seeding or even be registered with the site, that is an option, and not a
requirement. all i can say is wow, you people are the whipped topping on my pumpkin pie!! thank
you for the wonderful things you do here.

now for my suggestion to the 'graphical presentation', if you are able, i would keep the initial look as is,
and do what google does: if a user wants more graphical looks to it, they can use their own personal
graphics as a background, but keep up with the kiss (keep it simple stupid) format, as it makes it
that much faster, and cleaner. as far as the logo, well, hell, it's your logo, has been since i have been
here, and 10 years from now, if i were to see that logo without the writing on top, i would instantly
recognize whom it belongs to, so i would keep it just as is, or only add a little color as you see fit,
without actually changing the design itself.

just my thoughts, and again, thank you to eztv volunteers, owners, and community for the great
work!! i'll do my part by seeding as i can!!

are so many seasons and it ends after a while. how can i get the previous shows?

eztv only deals with new releases and the older the torrent from here the less likelyhood of it
having any seeds any more...

what i suggest to do in seeking older eps is to use a mass indexing site like www.torrentz.com to
search for entire season packs and if you are only looking for individual episodes you can uncheck
the ones you do not want...

you could also click on the show info link for a specific show (icon on the left of the listing)

example: top gear - http://eztv.it/shows/275/top-gear/

this will list everything we have done for that show.

actually, although this is a little off the topic of grahical interface, i do find myself agreeing with shayan
on the search function.

the only place i have seen a search function is on the home page, and it is not centrally located at the
top where it is easily noticeable. also, it only will pull results for show names, and it would be nice for it
to able to pull results for posted articles as well.

for example, i know that on this site somewhere there is a listing of really good places to get subtitles,
as i accidentally came across it before while reading other articles, however, now i find myself needing
to access that article again, and have no clue where it is located. a good search function located at the
top of everypage of the website would be able to do this. also, i know that google has some code you
can get from them for free that you can incorporate into the site for just this purpose, should you
decide to.

again, sorry to get a little off topic with this, as it is more in functionality (not what was requested),
rather than graphical. the graphical suggestion would be the layout of where the search function
should be located: i would either have it located in the top right or left; or have it as a floating function
that scrolls with you as you go up and down a page (which although that sometimes sounds better, i
personally find those types of controls annoying on websites.

also, thanks again for yours and all the volunteers hard work that goes into eztv.

personally i have only one request to aid this eztv website. could you possibly enlarge some of
the fonts size. i'm getting old and reading these small fonts makes my one good eye tired and water
a lot.
i enjoy coming to this site and checking out the tv news as well as finding my shows that i can't
get any other way, since i haven't owned a tv in 3 yrs. lol i think it's been said that simpler
is easier and easy this site is. not that, that 's a bad thing by no means. there are some
websites that have to have the latest and greatest graphic shows to slow down there websites so you
have to wait long periods to do a thing. here it's just as fast as you can handle in order to read
the news or download or upload a tv show. one other thing just popped in my mind.... can you widen
the page setting in order to view a large page. just a thought....

i agree this site is fast and thats my favorite part but do what you want just keep the download simple
[#154365] Written by: wern0122 [01/03/2011, 18:07]
i second the suggestion for larger fonts! i think, like most suggested, keep it simple and light,
and add to that make the fonts larger. i find myself moving my face up to the screen to read
things. (and i'm not all that old or anything!)

and, i don't mind the site design and the logo. it has some retro-coolness to it.

oy! i started poking around the forums today and noticed all the talk of the my page. lo and behold,
registering opened a whole new dimension of usefulness! and a dark theme to boot!

absolutely love the site! imho, any significant departure from the 'classic' layout and
functionality would be a shame. i'd used only tpb and a private tracker as my only bt sources for
the longest time until i tripped across ez in late '09. late last year, my private tracker
overhauled it's site design and functionality which still causes much grinding of teeth and wringing
of hands each and every time i now use it. i'm a field engineer and the first rule is: if it ain't
broke, don't fix it.

wrt the default landing page, i see some folks would like it to be their my page and others prefer
the original home page. i would definitely stick with the way it is now because a) not everyone has
registered, b) the tremendous load place on the server parsing every registered user's my page every
time we open the site would cause and c) i catch newly added shows by glancing through the home page
as upon arrival as is my habit.

which leads me to my first suggestion: add a "newly added shows" button on the main header and/or a
big yellow sticker that says new! next to a show title in show list. speaking of show list, three
days is a bit sparse as mentioned previously. maybe stretch it to five or default to three with a
user selectable preference of x days into the future?

second suggestion: on my page/add show, the current filter pull-down menu is nice but doesn't do
what i thought would be an obvious choice..."all shows except those that have ended." by replacing
the pulldown with checkboxes or simpler yet, add one more option "all except ended", the cruft of
dead shows would be eliminated. for ended/cancelled shows, i use tpb or my private tracker to pickup the
season packs or individual shows within the packs. i see eztv as 'broadcast' service rather than an
archive site.

third thought would be a mobile friendly version of my page. i was going to suggest an personalized
rss feed of my page but then i thought that through a bit more after the meds wore off.

lastly i'll do the unthinkable and <aol>me too!</aol> for the magnet links on my page/my shows.

thanks for all the incredible work you've done. if there were a donate! button somewhere, i would
happily click it and do my part to help with the hardware/bandwidth costs as i do with my private
tracker.

mila kunas should have been at my place 20 minutes ago. i'm supposed be snuggling with her right
now. please send her over.

but seriously, wrong thread to bring that up and keep in mind that the uploading of torrents and
seeding is done on a volunteer basis.

we're lucky to have such a great service. if you absolutely need to see a show so quickly you can
always subscribe to cable or satellite.

here are my comments:

1) i would like to get email updates of when my shows have been added to eztv, like a "subscribe to
greys anatomy" link. i know you offer a rss feed but directly to inbox for this instance is so much
better.

2) also a link for each show to the nzb file would be awesome, http://nzbmatrix.com/ is a great site for
sourcing the files.

3) a members area where you can create a personalized home page, you link all your shows you like
or watch, and those shows show up on your feed at your home page. i know you have the mypage
option but this is not what i am looking for.

4)for each episode add a http://disqus.com/ comment box so people can discuss the episode, this will
also create a community vibe, and make people keep returning to the site, not only for downloads. this
can be expanded by using there social integration and community box addons.

thanks for the awesome site.

1) we don't store users email addresses, and don't plan to anytime soon.

2) we are a torrent site, so no.

3) if i can code up a way that will not cause my servers to constantly be overloaded then i'll think
about it.

4) why? you can already do that using our forum, another comment system is not required, not
interested in integrating with social network systems for privacy reasons, i oddly enough care about
you people and store nothing about you.
