was planned that way, final ep wrapped everything up, 11:59 decision to renew because it was the
best season yet, so they tacked on the last extra 2 second scene
personally i was happy with it ending at that point, but nooooo, they had to go and add that last
scene so they could bring it back
trouble is, now it's gunna revert to monster of the week eps, and oh yay, vampires

probably the usual 20ish episodes i would imagine i think it's usually 22-24, it was only less than that in season 3 because
of the writers strike. i'm happy they renewed this there is nothing wrong with the monster-of-the-week format especially
when there is an overall story arc which there is this season, granted it probably won't beat the 5 year apocalypse thing but
who's to say it won't be just as good especially if it goes beyond season 6.

well, that's where you're wrong. season 6 was picked up in january 2010, with shooting not finishing on
season 5 until march. kripke had already made the decision to leave after season 5 and sera gamble
took over. this was no one minute to midnight decision by cw.
kripke always said he had a five season story arc but there was no reason why it could not continue
afterwards, he just wouldn't be on board.
supernatural was not - nor has it ever been - cancelled. and finally, their ratings last season were not
the best.

i really enjoyed it. big gripe is that i missed the traditional season open/close music.
