Shit My Dad Says S01E01 Pilot HDTV XviD-FQM

ed is a very opinionated 72-year-old who has been divorced three times. his two adult sons, henry and
vince, are accustomed to his unsolicited and often politically incorrect rants. when henry, a struggling
writer and blogger, can no longer afford his rent, he is forced to move back in with ed, which creates
new issues in their tricky father-son relationship.

ed being played by william shatner! 🙂 i am so looking forward to this. title sucks though, a la
idiocracy type!

great stuff! watched it, well, loved shatner on boston legal so i miss the cranky old man role he does.

sorry but that was a horrible pilot just as bad as outsourced.

i wasn't expecting much after watching the trailer but i thought it was ok, i had a few laughs. i'll
see how the next few eps pan out.

holy crap, that was terrible.

the shat was alright for an 80-year old dad but the writing and the laid off son was just friggin'
terrible. the canned laughter only made it worse - it was only used to make sure we understood that
a certain line was supposed to be a joke. good god, i wonder what the hell those guys at cbs were
thinking, that show sucks so much that i feel stupid even for watching it.

honestly, when i heard about the show i felt it was gonna suck and i was going to skip it but it had
the shat and it was only a half-hour comedy so i decided to give it a go. it took me all of 3:50 to
hate it but i stuck through hoping it would only be bad and not, what it ended up being, god awful
terrible.

i'd really like to say something nice about the show so i'll just point out that my dad looks a
little like the shat and we're both star trek fans so it's nice to see him.

btw, the last time i hated something so much was the first episode of the big bang theory but, after
5 episodes (and a lot of insistence by my wife and sister) it finally got good enough for a chuckle.
perhaps that'll happen here but i really don't see that happening.

yeah, that was pretty bad. i could not make it through to the end. i agree that the laugh-track is a
comedy killer. the actors are fine, and i was also looking forward to shatner but they aren't given
much to work with. shatner as an archie bunker knock-off is a waste of talent. basic, standard,
single stage sitcom format that seems tired after modern family (new season!). funny exits and
entrances just can't hold a show together. the funny moments aren't funny and the poignant moments
aren't moving or touching. the running raccoon gag, the running cot gag just do not cut it. men of a
certain age, weeds, hung, modern family: there are plenty of good shows out there that have raised
the bar, this one can't compete.

i too will pass...i'm not a shatner fan, but that doesn't influence my decision to not watch the
show. i have seen him in a few programs where he didn't annoy the heck out of me, but thirty minutes
of the old guy working with a bad script....just ugh.

shame. the original tweets were funny. i did wonder how on earth they'd make a tv show out of it though.
think i'll pass...

i sit here reading all the negative response to this sitcom wondering, "what is something wrong
with me?" i really enjoyed it for what it is, a distraction and a laugh. then coming back here and
seeing the multiple paragraphs of disdain for the show... i just don't understand, why did i
enjoy it, but every other remark was negative?

pilot didn't get me. don't think it's funny or so.

the potential of the show is there, but there was no chemistry with the two leads. they just did
not seem to work.

i certainly respect that other people may like this, but i think that the potential for this show to
be so much more has been lost in the very mundane writing. i was expecting the politically
incorrect archie bunker of the new millennium. instead the funniest line to me was when shatner
said, why can no one imitate me correctly? that was a funny inside joke!

maybe the 140 characters need to be employed by the script writers.

ditto. i watch about 10 mins of both and turned them off. they definitely won't be added to my
regular downloads.

i watched this because i quite like shatner, and indeed, his character is fairly decent.

there were a few chuckles in the show, but i have to wonder where they're going to 'go' with this one.
indeed, if it wasn't for the slightly more adult than usual language and the presence of kirk, this would be
extremely uninteresting.

i can't see this one lasting very long unless they come up with another 'angle'.
