FOX's LONE STAR already on "deathwatch"

that sucks. i liked the pilot episode alot. i think its fox\'s fault. i saw no advertising for it,
neither did any of my freinds. and if your trying to be competitive with a show that had more
advertising than any other show i have ever seen you need to have alot of advertising.

i don't think "different" is the problem here. breaking away from the usual garbage is great, and should be encouraged.
however, i think a lot of people avoided this show simply because, from all accounts, it's a story about a douchebag (unless
i'm getting my pilots mixed-up. this is the one about the guy with two families, isn't it?). personally, i don't find characters
like that appealing, and i certainly wouldn't want to watch stories about them. if i want to see selfish, amoral, arrogant
jerks, all i've gotta do is look out my window. i watch tv to see heroic, noble, self-sacrificing protagonists *opposing* those
other types. eh, call me old fashioned. 🙂

i thought it would be like that originally, but i really like the main character. they somehow made
him seem noble, even though he is doing a horrible thing. i think they had very very good writing in
this show.

this is not fox's fault. it's not as if no one watched the show, millions did but quickly tuned out within
the first 15 minutes and the ratings dropped horribly as the hour progressed.

in fact, if you want to talk about shows that had no marketing and were left for dead - let's look at past
life. lonestar's ratings make that show look like american idol.

i have to agree, this is one time when i can't blame fox at all. it was an optimal time slot with
just about the best lead-in the network could give them.

the show was just great though, so i'm hoping fox does the right thing and keeps it alive, though i
really don't look for it to happen. i think our best hope is going to be a cable network picking it
up when fox cancels, the way tnt did with southland.
