i agree, though killing of 80% of the cast in 3.5 series is a bonus!

can't wait for this..

sounds like they are going back to what the old doctor who was like. instead of single "creature of
the week" they did a one or 2 huge story's every season.

as for joining up with the us "starz" well since they are cable i'd bet on more gender politics
(well more than the us is used to...) lol!!

but we'll get more sci-fi as well..

well russel left doctor who to focus more on torchwood which had been highly successful throughout
the world on both television as well online viewing and of course downloading! 🙂 i doubt we will
see many changes concerning gender related issues, or it becoming more soap opera like, which is
cheesey as it is and part of its charm really. i mean come on, capt. jack is kind of a dime story
romance novel, or comic book like character and though acted well, not meant to be taken seriously.
the show, " for the most part " is just meant to be good natured fun, like d.w., with serious over
tones as needed which are normally quite well acted without going overboard.

hopefully with starz being involved and some other markets we will see a bit more expense taken on
the show and some settings and background locations though i have never had reason to complain in
the past. and as long as people aren't expecting " children of earth " this series we should be ok.
russel had the idea a while ago and it took him sometime to write, on of those things he had to do
and did well when he did.

i came late to the torchwood series and didn't even know of it until series 2 was about to air, but
i have seen them all, watched series 2 and liked it, the special 3 rd. series rocked, and i am sure
with russel focusing solely on t.w. now we are in for a very good series and 10 episodes in this
series compared to the last one of 5, which were special as mentioned and designed solely to give
more exposure to an already great show, and it worked. hopefully we also will not have to wait as
long for a series 4 with the starz deal since the money will be there, and having a better budget
should help. i just wonder though why the scifim now called syfy channel didn't pick this up from
the start as they did doctor who which they started showing one series behind in late 2005 / early
2006.

anyhow i am rambling and also excited we will be seeing this show gain more exposure through gaining
a wider audience, and as long production values remain high or even improve we can look forward to
at least a couple more years of t.w. since ole capt. jack can stay looking so young and good for so
long even with make up. remember, he doesn't age and he can't die, even if you blow him up! and
there is no way you could replace him and have the show work. right?

anyhow here is to a new season / series of t.w. and i hope remains successful for a few more years.

if children of earth was the mini series where the government was going give kiddies away to aliens
then i definitely want the new series to be just as good. it was leagues ahead of all the other
series of tw and if rtd can't match it with a bigger budget then i'm going to be rather disappointed.
hopefully he'll realise this is his big break in the states and won't chuff it up by introducing
characters more unlikeable than owen (the alive version).

btw, bbc cymru wales is a bloody stupid name as it means bbc wales wales.
