AMC Greenlights Zombie Series!

this could be the coolest thing, ever. if they do it right. i\'m leery of the \"how human nature evolves (or devolves) through
crisis and the need for survival trumps morality\" line. if they\'re talking about people having to learn to kill former friends,
family, and neighbors who have turned into zombies, no problem, i\'m in. if, on the other hand, they\'re talking about people
turning on each other and learning to sacrifice non-zombie friends, family, and neighbors simply to assure one\'s own
survival, then a hearty \"no, thanks\" is in order.

i\'m sick to death (no pun intended) of shows about people who, quite simply, suck. people who are selfish, greedy, out-for-
themselves and totally lacking anything that would make a viewer like them or be able to identify with them. i see people
like that every day in real life, i don\'t need to see them dominating my escapist entertainment. \"sorry, little timmy, but
there\'s only one can of spam left, and it\'s either me or you.\" *bang* nope, i wanna see people being noble and self-
sacrificing in the face of adversity. people who do what\'s right because it\'s the right thing to do and not because there\'s
either a reward of some kind, or simply a camera on them. not everyone is like that, of course, but that\'s what makes
watching people of that nature enjoyable.

very odd choice of showrunner. his work stages a dilemma and rolls out the moral/immoral choices
required to get there. he'll have to get someone to create the physical threats though.

seems derivative of the bbc's survivors. i absolutely love that setup with both the writing and
characters equal to the task.

have you read the comics?

i for one hope there is a healthy mix of a-holes and good guys, but if you had read the comic you
would know that the entire point of the series is to examine the human condition, and how it
evolves/devolves with the cessation of organised society and its moral codes.

lets face it, if you're faced with hordes of creatures trying to eat you and a member of your group
is creating a problem, wherin everyone may be killed, you wouldn't reason with the danger-bringer,
you would put them down or face death.

survival is all

god i hope they don't screw it up or tone it down. i wanna see carl freaked out and killing people
(eventually).
