"No past characters" in new 'Doctor Who'

that\'s funny, i could have sworn i saw alex kingston in the series 5 preview. would be weird to
bring her back as a new character, but i guess they did it with freema between 2 and 3.

she's not a new character. and she was only in a two parter, so not a major character.

having alex kingston's character return would just be finishing up old business, since she does
mention a relationship with the doctor which is in his future, her past.

steven moffat does say no old characters in his *first* series, which is different from saying that
the eleventh doctor will never meet any characters from the tenth doctor's series run.

the library two-parter was also one of his creations (though under davies control) so not
necessarily ruled out, depends just how you interpret what he said. and doesn't rule out any older
characters (can't wait for sarah jane to meet the new doctor.... young enough to be her son).

the only one i can really see coming back is captain jack anyway, and maybe donna. rose and martha
are pretty much done.

it's too bad we won't see jack in this series, not even for the finale. but i'm glad he didn't
completely rule him out!

i hope , they do bring back capt. jack , i have watched the doctor since hartnell , it is his friends and others
that make him , even though he considers himself a loner , the episode where every companion past and present
answered it all ......
