so why does the good old usa have to change everything for? whey can they not watch a good show
from another place and like it the way it is. they will change something and then it will not do
any good and that is that. just like it as it is.
who did not see this coming a mile away. i said as much, months ago.
for crying out loud, this is the fox network after all. given the networks reputation, what was rtd thinking
bring any sci-fi program to the network, much less torchwood? and fox being the flag bearer for all things
"right" and "proper" in american culture, the neutering of capt. jack was inevitable. the next big change
coming to the show, is dumbing it down. followed by, removing any chance of any commentary about the
human condition, from the show's dialog.
why rtd could not pitch torchwood to cable (i'm thinking hbo or showtime) and keep the show as
delightfully deviant as it has always been, is beyond me.
most of the "vocal minority" of the us (i.e. "bible belt") have a problem with having a immortal
being, who is not from earth, who freely gives love to all, regardless of race or gender and who
likes to get nailed every now and again...
the only people who actually seem to care about this are the gays. no one else watches this show for
this reason. the bottom line, it sucked before and this version will too.
"bible belt" as opposed to the "idiot belt"? hmm, do you guys even know that most of the righteous and moral people in the
us live on the east coast. as for barrowman wanting to stay gay. so be it. we all know that most english man are gay
anyway. but the creator davies knows that gay or not gay most british shows that get remade for the us usually never do
well without a lot of tweaking. americans just don't get why it's so funny to always talk about toilet humor. maybe americans
have high expectations. if davies wants to make more money he has to develop a show that the us audience will follow. it's
tough enough with all the stupid "british" in-jokes without having to deal with gay and bestiality issues. now before you euros
get your knickers in a bunch i must add that i am a big fan of dr. who. i was really mad when they let go the doctor and
replaced him with a young kid. also, rose was such a treat to watch. she is so innocent, well meaning and she is so sexy. i
will try to download the last dr. who episodes before the young kid takes over. peace out. it is strange how i have never
seen torchwood on pbs at all in the us. the show must really suck.

even if it makes it to production, i am not holding my breath for it to last very long. it will
either be under- advertised, micro-managed script-wise, shuffled from day to day, pre-empted for
other shows/sports, and then finally up and canceled with no notice.
