i actually prefer to use a 650mb cdrw. so a 350 file for me is good as it fits on this re-writable cd. if everyone were to create 650mb files, i would be over the moon. re-writable cds seem to last for a bloody long time, so they are well worth the money and if i have 3 on the go i can play bsg, sg-1 and atlantis all one after the other. but since their showing times have gone all whacky that practice has gone out the window. not everyone can afford to have a media pc in their lounge. most avi compatible dvd players can't keep up with the codecs so the programs seem to stutter and lose lip synch most of the time. usually they are divx compatible but not xvid compatible. as in my case with my zensonic z330 piece of crap. usual procedure to play an avi as follows: turn on player press play turn off player turn on player, again press enter (prey) if film stutters press eject close tray begin procedure from step one. <insert profanities here> you get the idea. |

they should be watched in the order they were released - first "tao of rodney" released last week (nbs hr labelled 15 only, which was then reencoded to 350 by various people) and then this "the game" (nbs hr labelled 16 and mint 350 labelled 15). |

pretty much ditto the above reply. just greatful there are people who care to take the time to capture and encode there eps for the rest of us. i remember having to wait a month a time to get the eps i wanted on dvd. nightmare. so whatever size people upload, 700 or 350, here's a big thanks just for you, thanks!. |

my pc and my divx/dvd player won't play hr hdtv releases so if i got them i'd have to reencode anyway. is it possible to buy a harware player that will do the hr versions? anyway it would still be pointless as i don't have a hdtv anyway. won't be able to afford one for quite some time either on a seperate note, what happened to episode 14 "sunday"? |

no, contrary to what others have said, i don't think there are any consumer grade players that will handle the higher rez yet. most top out at 720. closest thing would be a modded x-box or similar. not even the oppo digital players (best you can buy - google it) can do it yet. though knowing them, they might one of these days soon! if anyone knows of a player that can play these, i'd like to hear about it too. as for "sunday", it hasn't aired yet even in magic canadaland... someone posted this earlier, sorry i don't remember who or i'd credit them. atlantis schedule on canadian movie central: 11th dec 2006 - atlantis 314 - tao of rodney 18th dec 2006 - atlantis 315 - the game 08th jan 2007 - atlantis 316 - the ark 15th jan 2007 - atlantis 317 - sunday or submersion 22nd jan 2007 - atlantis 318 - submersion or sunday 29th jan 2007 - atlantis 319 - vengeance 05th feb 2007 - atlantis 320 - first strike |

that's not the point. i prefer 350mo versions because i can burn it on 2 dvd's instead of 4. the success of 350mo versions has nothing to do with people still burning their tv shows on cd's. (sorry for my english) |

there has been some crap on these threads recently. i too would prefer to download a 350mb version as i normally watch on a laptop screen, but i don't mind downloading a 700mb version. if i really need to its a simple matter to re-encode that to any size i want. the extra download doen't bother me as it doesn't take that much longer to download. i you complain about the extra time to download, either: buy a higher bandwith or download less of the other crap. i'm really thankfull that the stuff is here - whatever size it is. mb p.s: merry christmas |
