guess we'll have to "thank" river for bringing us an episode from a pdtv source
instead of hdtv, once again.

daniel: another american here that watches. not too many of my friends have
heard of it, but i have slowly been recruiting them to watch this and the cbc\'s
\"intelligence\" (which i have to get off demonoid, unfortunately ☹️ )

it seems like only the cable networks are making the effort to create shows i
really like (dexter, weeds, the wire, sleeper cell, etc.); what i wouldn\'t do
for permanent access to bbc and chanel four programming!

yet another american. love the show and have been talking about it to my family
and flist. i've gotten one friend and my sister hooked. hee. my friend even
lamented how this will not be shown on network tv (or even a decent genre cable
channel). i completely agree. who gets bbc america? that's another tier up on my
cable plan which we can't afford. [sigh] i love the brit shows i've been able to
watch.

"what i wouldn't do for permanent access to bbc and chanel four programming!"
i'm right there with you, bugchicklv!

out of curiousity, what is pdtv? never heard of it.

pdtv = pure digital television. it's a file ripped directly from a purely
digital source with a tv tuner card that can receive digital video broadcasts.
quality is less than hdtv but depending on what you are watching it on you may
not notice the difference.

just a word about the show: the sheriff of nottingham is great in this series.
so "deliciously evil"!

this is a great series and i love it. it is however not a 'historically' or
accurate portrayal of the robin hood tale (depend on if you take the ballads
or the 16th century story). it clothes are wrong and there are more 20th
century morals in the story than the medieval ones, but never the less, i
really love this series. it's fun to watch, has some great stories and is in
the same category as doctor who for me! yay for brits making tv!

did you know that in order to watch tv in the uk you are obliged to buy a tv
licence which currently costs

the bbc is funded by the licence fee and is worth it in my opinion.

why? well on bbc channels there are no adverts. on bbc radio stations there are
no adverts. plus a duty for them to make good original programming. the bbc
news channel is the best and we all know how good the comedies can be (the
office for instance). doctor who and robin hood are both bbc made, the list is
endless.

a lot of people do think it odd we have to pay to own a tv but when you're so
used to it its not a big deal. although the rate its been rising over the last
few years is more of a big deal!

there are a large number of people that have requested the hdtv version
pdtv is not as good as the hdtv version - the hdtv version is much better

it seems crazy to me that the so called 'scene' has rules that forbid others
from releasing whatever they have
and that someone can 'nuke' another persons rip

give us hdtv for all the programs that transmit in hdtv

i would not have started to download this unless it was in hdtv
and now i have an incomplete series - might as well throw it in the bin (or wait
for dvdrip if they come)

river (if it is him that nuked the other peoples hdtv version) i ask why ???

petty politics is what damages a group
ive seen it so many times before

hdtv please

we wait for the hdtv, but if the scene don't release one then we put the pdtv out
there. there was never an hdtv release for episode 10 so it seems unlikely
there will be one for episode 11. nothing anyone here can do about it.

yea i agree, it does not comply with the socio-historic evidence but, as you
said it is still a great show!

oh and here in australia, it will probably never been on our tv(s)~

at least the clothes are more accurate than the green tights of early tv/stage
versions, and the story is more accurate than the last version with all that
mystical mojo.

re. hdtv vs pdtv... there's been contention over hdtv and pdtv with river (or
someone) nuking the hdtv releases that don't beat the pdtv. it *seems* that
gothic and bia have stopped hdtv as a result.
