The mid season break is on

why do insight news have titles that
- don't have anything to do with the content of the news
- make us want to click on it
?

it's getting pretty annoying.

to reiterate; the titles always point towards the content of the insight episode, and the answer to the
second point is obvious to anyone with half a brain.

the titles are *always* relevant to the contents of the episode, so there's nothing wrong going on here.

sorry santabj, but that isn't marketing 101, it's telemarketing claptrap. any business student
knows that you don't build an audience by deceit. only in the telemarketing world do they annoy the
crap out of people thinking they might start buying the product.

the title got me to click on the story, but as soon as i saw it was another insight ad, i clicked
away without reading further. i'm sure that's what a lot of people did. so now when another story
comes along and maybe a good one from insight, people aren't even going to give the story a chance.

someone never read the story "the boy who cried wolf!"

wow santabj, ads means advertisement period. it has nothing to do with payment or favours nor was
it used in that context. advertising is just another term for promotion which is what this is.
don't know why you are sensitive over that choice of terms it was apt.

there's no implied subtext at all, only in your mind. the term is perfect use of the english
language and if i were to imply anything about monetary reward i would have been absolutely
specific. i object strongly to your making the implication and suggest that you look up the term
advertising and its use in the context of my statement.

it is you who are planting the seed that this has something to do with money when nothing i said
even hints at it. if you are really going to sit there and go through posts with a fine tooth comb
looking for words that have multiple meanings and complain about them, you really need some serious
help.

advertising simply means to publicize, to make public, to highlight, to promote, to draw attention
to, etc... a commercial is an advertisement, a want ad is, a personals ad, a public service ad, a
job ad...

btw i don't object to your pointing out that no money is involved here. i object to your
insinuation that i implied it with my words.

why on earth are you going on about it then if you didn't think i meant money? i seriously doubt
anyone else thought i meant money was exchanged, so why make a big deal out of it if you thought
otherwise?

btw these were your words above "and they aren't ads. "advertisement" implies payment, or at least
an exchange of favours." so if you know that ad doesn't actually imply that, why continue with this
line of bs, why even bring it up in relation to my post?
