when torrents get stuck...

once every while it happenes that torrents get suddenly stuck, although there
are hundreds of seeders...how come?

i have encountered this issue for quite a lot of times, like e.g. when the
tracker announces 2000 seeders and 1000 leechers, but you're only connected to
100 leechers who are stuck at e.g. 97.1% like you...

the thing is, that this doesnt only happen to me, but also to other people i
know. nevertheless, other people have obviously been able to download the file
before.

what can i do to prevent such incidents, or can i even fix them, when they
occur, using utorrent 1600?

i find that stopping the torrent, doing a "force recheck" on it to make sure
your client is right about which pieces it has and which it hasn't, then
starting the torrent up again can often fix these issues.

however, it's also possible you're talking about a fake torrent - some people
create fake torrents that will never go past a high percentage, all the seeds
are fakes. these won't appear on the eztv site but they will appear on mininova.

i have the same problem with bitcomet, but only since i upgraded to 0.79

stopping the torrent will fix it, but all torrents have stuck at 99.x% since i
upgraded...
