brilliant lot of information here about this excellent but doomed show. thanks to the uploader for sourcing the material.
i don\'t see how the show could possibly be revived in any form, now that the actors have been released from their
contracts, the sets destroyed, and their fan base effectively scattered and disregarded, but perhaps parriott will consider
taking a leaf out of joss whedon\'s book (and many others i\'m sure) by continuing the story in comic book / graphic novel
form? no budget to speak of, no creative restrictions, and no restrictive timeline for episodes to come out weekly, etc.
it\'s worth it - many buffy fans who\'d never have picked up a comic book in their life changed their tune entirely when
buffy season 8 was launched as official canon. and i daresay that most defying gravity fans would already be happy to
pick up a comic book anyway, so they may not even need as much convincing.
i thoroughly enjoyed the show and would also have liked further details about the death toll ... was pariott planning on
killing off any of the crew over the course of the mission? i\'m guessing not because the whole premise was that beta had
selected them for a specific purpose, but what if any of the actors had wanted to pursue another avenue of their
professional lives during the course of the (presumably six or more years of the) show - or, heaven forbid, had suffered
extreme injury or even died? i\'d be interested to know how he\'d have factored that into a show where we\'re told from the
beginning that at least each of the members on board antares was chosen because they served a greater purpose. how
does one cover up any necessary cast changes without \'jumping the shark\' when such a bold claim has been made at the
outset?
it\'s all very interesting and was a brilliant concept well executed (no matter what the show\'s detractors say), so it will be
sorely missed. this information is good salve for the scars it leaves in its wake, though.
