"the second season premiere of fox's "dollhouse" was down sharply in the ratings compared to its
series opener and resumed about where the show left off"

how can that be construed as a 'flop'. they started where they left off. that means people who
watched the series till the end, decided to stick with it for a second season. that's a good thing
imo. if they had watched the season final and thought it was crap then they would not be back.

i knew that it would drop sharply from the season 1 premire! it was obvious and should never be the
main focus of a news story. fox messed with the first season completely and watered it down to such
an extent that when we got to what the series should have been, the season 1 finale and epitaph one,
it had been too long. it's a surprise that it got a second season, but just because it has 2 million
viewers doesn't mean it should be cancelled. maybe shorter seasons and a lower budget, but not
cancelled. it can still earn a cult fanbase, if given the chance. plus, the season one opener was
good, and it totally set up the series properly, episode 2 is where it all gets crazy apparently.

glad it's doing shitty. i'm betting it will begin to lose ratings by next week. i still hate they chose this over
tscc.

well of course ratings were down, as someone else said, season 1 got messed around with too much and
people left. they\'re not gonna just magically come back just because season 2 has started. you\'ve
gotta give the show time to win viewers back, and that\'s probably gonna take a few episodes to allow
joss and crew time to develop the new season into something interesting.

though i liked both shows, i felt the same way until i saw epitaph 1. that just renewed my
annoyance at networks that mess with shows by people with solid fanbases and i'm glad the show is
back now. i still miss scc though. i get that it was more expensive to make but i'd give my
non-existent kingdom for a miniseries wrap up or something.

dollhouse's ratings continued to drop over the first season. season 2 started with the same ratings
as the end of season 1. if it can't do any better than it's ending last season, what makes you think
it will go up as season 2 goes on? yes, there's a chance it will rise, but only time will tell.

and with law and order's boring season premier, i think they're only got renewed to tie gunsmoke for
the record of longest running primetime drama.

law of tv gravity, shows do not reverse falling ratings barring a miracle. the problem with the show is
not the timeslot or the network messing around with the premise, that happens on just about every
show on tv, the good ones just deal with it and keep going. the only reason dollhouse got a second
season is because fox knows there are a bunch of suckers out there who will buy the box set, then the
special edition season 1+2 set, then the directors cut box set, etc. etc.
has whedon really said this is his last tv effort? if so i must break out the champagne...

i enjoyed the show, but i too are very disappointed that they chose it over tscc. i thought it was a
great show. sadly, some of the actors from tscc have moved on to other things. what a waste ☹️

i totally agree with you. and sssssooooo many tscc fans fought for this, there's even a website
where fans till today are fighting for it! the website: www.savethescc.com .

i honestly thought season 3 would be the best season as john conner is in the future, which would
prove an interesting story arc to watch!

e! entertainment even ran an online "save a tv show" poll and tscc won by a landslide! others on the
list were dollhouse and reaper.

...and yet, the network didnt listen. *sigh*
