i've partially figured out how to do hdtv to xvid conversion:
demux the video with projectx
remove commercials with mpeg2schnitt
use dgindex
and then i get stuck. i can use mkvtoolnix to recombine the video and .ac3 into
a .mkv file and that plays fine in vlc but that's not what i want. i want to
make those nice high-res xvid's with ac3 audio. i gather that avisynth is
involved? can anyone walk me through the remaining steps? or is there an
easier way to go about this? my starting point is a mythtv .mpg file. i can do
processing in linux or windows.
