does anyone know why season 3 files are all 550mb unlike the last 2 seasons
when they were 350? around the same amount of time & quality, but now its 1.6
times larger? it kinda screws up my download plan... i cant afford the files
to b more than 350!!

i believe it's new scene rules for shows running around 60 mins.
showtime has no commercial breaks or ads of course.

yea, but the thing is, last season was around the same amount of time right?
50-55mins per an episode, but it was still 350... so its not so much the time
difference but the quality? but the quality when it was 350 was
goooooooooddd!!! :'( now im gonna have to wait until the non-ratings period
to download it... or get it off my friend... either way, i wont b able to
watch until later!!! how will i survive?!

550mb for a tv show is fricken ridiculous. don\'t these scene groups realise
that a lot of the world is under quotas and we don\'t have unlimited? 350mb was
fine!

its only 200 mb more and the quality is a lttle better then the 350 mb files. if
its the disc size 700 mb you worry about just 1 episode pr disc. it will be fine:-)

its not the disc size that's a problem, its out download limit. for me, in
australia, the internet is obscenely expensive, and i have to limit my
download within my cap. the thing is, i dont just watch dexter, i had a whole
plan that kept me within my "fast" speed and incorporated all my shows (i
already had to cut down), if i go over that, everthing goes to a max of
5.3kbs, download and internet wise. *sigh* i cant do much about it... but its
so frustrating!!!

i garentee i'm paying more for internet than you, but in truth i don't mind
dexter now being a 550mb rip, just like how some of the uk rips are 700mb for
their shows.

the length of the show deserves the larger size, the 350mb rips last season
looked quite poor for dexter, hell if i had my way all the shows should go
550mb, if they went 700mb i still would not complain, quality is always a plus,
and considering there are no hr rips anymore, there is no "middle" quality
options out there now, so the base option needs improvment.

if your taxing your dl limit, drop a show or two, i did that recently, stuff
that no longer was really grabbing me, that and leaving stuff to the off season
when nothing else is on.

but seriously, the increase in quality 'is' a good thing, i feel the whole not
enough bandwidth gripe, but in this case it's one time where it's seriously
worth it.

u think i havent dropped shows already... ive already dropped 5 and i still am
just managing to get it within limits. and some of those shows i really like
too. maybe becuase i watch it on a relatively small screen (13") laptop that
it doesnt make such a difference to me. plus i would rather watch 2 of my fav
shows than 1, even though dexter is really good... luckily, dexter is one of
those shows that i can watch continuously cos the plot line moves sooooo
fast. still not the idea option, but i have to make sacrifices

so why don't you coordinate downloading with a friend (in a way that you will
e.g. take care of dexter and a friend will take care of something else) and
exchange shows?

it's all about allocating resources ...

admin : download clubs - what a great idea!
