Cable ratings: Dexter breaks records, Californication still strong

all this despite being leaked online early 😛 i'm starting to think they leaked
it on purpose, they have finally figured out that instead of having a show on
the internet after it's premier and building up buzz, they are getting it
online before it premiers so that generated buzz can actually boost the shows
premier.

it's a brave new world, it wont be long until we see big budget tv shows with
big name actors being released exclusively on the internets, and then being
sold off to the cable/tv networks in syndication after they are famous 😛

if tv execs were clever and open-minded, they'd already have started to make use
of the internet's possibilities to satisfy their customers ... err ... viewers.

i mean ... what is so wrong about offering content over the internet? i am
pretty sure that, if major shows were being made available by the networks for
d/l in good quality , people would even live with commercial breaks without
cutting these out of every episodes because the networks would finally give them
the opportunity to watch every episode in the most flexible way.

hell, tv studios could even use torrents to distribute and limit the load on
their side ... although that way, demographic statistics and ratings would be
tough to generate.
