i wonder if some of the newer shows would survive a second strike. like tscc, it
barely survived the first one and it's already struggling. the strike might
benefit some actors, but i think a lot of people could lose their jobs over it.

what do you think?

i think its retarded. very very bad timing, they shoulda done this when the
writers were doing their own strike. having a strike now is woefully illogical.
the industry is barely limping by now after the last strike, a new one at this
point in the game? game over.

there's no chance of this getting approved and sag knows it. this much became
clear after aftra closed the deal with a vast majority of acceptance. lots of
actors are members from both sag and aftra, so if they were ok with accepting
the deal back then, imagine now!
sag has no leverage whatsoever and the amptp knows it. i don't understand how
sag's negotiators are still trying to, well, negotiate. it's over. it's been
over for the past two months, accept it and stop looking like big dorks.

another strike will cripple the "already declining" ratings and revenue.

tv ratings have been in trouble ever since the invention of the vcr...oops, i
mean tivo. if executives and hollywood are blaming "pirated p2p sharing" for the
decline...i'm sorry, but networks have to be accountable for what they put on
the air and what they decide to foolishly axe off.

cinema has gotten huge boost this past summer with big time releases, but
imagine if these films were never released...this past summer's ticket revenue
would have been abysmal!

i am sick of these strike talks and threats. if these rich, selfish, corporate,
movie and tv stars want more money....they won't get it by not working.

i totally agree that this situation is retarded. it is like the baseball strike
or the nba lockout....what do these people in hollywood think they will
accomplish by going on strike? the current economic state is in shambles.

they all need to suck it up and enjoy their already millions of dollars.

boo hoo... they want more millions, while millions are being evicted from their
homes or having their jobs outsourced to pisshole countries like india or china.

i don't see anyone feeling sympathy for the milliionaire actors at all. the only
ones i would feel any sort of sympathy for are the guys behind the scenes like
the camera and other crew guys of the sorts.

if that means another year without american tv, then so be it. i have already
forgotten about it myself. my playlist mainly consists of kiwi and aussie shows
now, with a little bit of toku from japan thrown in.

@ pkran. the uk version of life on mars is far superior, watch that. i have a
feeling the original kiwi version of outrageous fortune will also be better than
the bastard us version that's about to start any day now as well.
