but some of us here actually remember it's prime time debut in the fall of 1989!
ah..... memories! ;-)
for those keeping track of time.... and may or may not know.... prior to it's
prime time debut it was on as an episodic 'animated short' segment on the wildly
popular prime time aired "tracy ulman show". (i may have her last name spelled
wrong). it jumped to it's own series following after that. i *think* it actually
started on her show in *1987*, and debuted in it's own right 2 years later.
none of us watching her show and then their new one ever dreamed that "the
simpsons' would become a cultural institution on tv and still be on these 20+
years later! tracy's show came and went, but infant maggie lives on forever!
lol....
just think.... those who were infants when she was born are in college now!
hahahahahahahahahahahaha
raise your hand if you remember any of this, and/or feel old! i do! but i'm
proud to still watch! ;-)
hmmm...i remember reading matt groening's first cartoon series, "life is hell",
which appeared in a small local paper, called "the easy reader", in hermosa
beach calif. that was in the early 70's before 'life is hell' was published in
book form and before the series was syndicated and by wet magazine.
a strange cartoon, with a one-eared rabbit and other weird characters.
good stuff!
