i get a big laugh whenever paranoid cr*p like this gets made. they are no
different than creationists who try to disprove the fact of evolution. the jury
is in. global warming is real. btw, there is far more money in polluting than in
non-polluting, so that "motive" is shot. [rolleyes]

no one's suggesting that people "continue polluting". there are plenty of
other reasons besides global warming to decrease your carbon footprint.

but feel free to dismiss shows like this based on their viewpoint, because god
knows it's never good to hear both sides of a story and decide for yourself...

fact is, the truth almost always lies somewhere in the middle. i'm sure that's
the case here. you'll likely find just as much exaggeration and interpolation
in a film like "an inconvenient truth" as you will in a show like this.

regardless of the flawed position of the filmmakers. why on earth is this being
uploaded here now?

the documentary was made years ago, was controversial when it was broadcast and
subsequently much was disproved and retractions were made.

why is eztv allowing this to be posted now -- it's grossly out of date and
irrelevant -- as well as being tinfoil hat paranoid spam, the usual mvgroup
nonsense.

i think eztv's alliance with mvgroup is neither wise nor productive.

there is now a consensus in the scientific community that it is real and that
we're the primary cause as well. we're also in the mids of the 6th largest mass
extinction event in the history of the world as well, and this to is being
primarily caused by us.

no there's not. there are still thousands of world scientists and
meterologists on either side of the debate. there's still no consensus on
anything.

yes climate change is real. are we the sole cause? no.

the earth is millions of years old, i think she can sort herself out.

the fossil record is full of the results of the earth sorting herself out.

not necessarily a bad thing, but i personally don't want it happening too soon,
especially when we, as a species are the first that seem to be aware of what is
happening.

the earth will be fine. its humans specifically our generations that will have a
problem.

the whole thing about solar flares causing the heat increase is a bit daft as we
are at solar minimum at the moment and its still getting hotter.
i wish it was just that.

so naive, 'global warming is fact', i guess you'd better go buy some of
those 'carbon credits' to offset emissions from your car then eh? forget the
fact that the industry is completely unregulated and just about anyone can
invent their own formula for deciding how much you should pay and how it is
getting 'offset'.

forget the fact that al gore owns one of these companies, and donates to it to
offset his own emissions

just beleive every bit of tripe you are told and then jump on board the next
product that promises to relieve your guilt instead of actually doing
something about it other that whinging and quoting public opinion as
scientific consensus

who benefits from all this? well now all of a sudden just about every product
can be reinvented in a 'greener' form, sold for more and play on everyones
eco-guilt.

pollution is bad, no shit, we've known that for a very long time. we should
stop it, no shit, we've known that for a long time. it's causing the
unstoppable warming of the earth and we are all going to die?

well i hate to be the bringer of bad news but this is speculation. in all the
news reports and rants people offer i rarely see a peer reviewed article
mentioned (in fact never) all i hear is popular opinion vomited out from every
news station, news paper and every joe who likes to think he's ontop of
current world events.

(also worth mentioning that if your gonna plant a tree, you'll need to bury it
real deep underground for around 200 years, after it has become fully grown,
if you want to take the carbon out of the cycle)

sorry this thread made me lol, if those people who are so adament about global
warming being our fault and not the earth going through another natural cycle
then why are you guys on here downloading torrents and posting when all your
doing is adding to the problem (alledgedly)?

i guess we should all turn off our computers and sit in silent contemplation
in the dark as to the damage we have caused our planet before going back to
the hunter/ gatherer stage of our evolution?

maybe we should all just go out and get a life before the planet decides we
are yet another failed experiment.

i am dismayed that something so important has become a bit like a bizarre
religious debate with zealots on either side. programmes like this and al
gore's thing twist factual interpretation to boost their own respective faiths.
the people to be most wary of are those who make assertions which could never
be backed up. swindle goes some way towards making this point, but then shoots
itself in the foot by falling into the very same trap.
you should still watch it if you are interested in the subject matter.

is this the british doco that was shown on prime (nz) about a year ago?

are you aware that global temperatures have been falling since 2001, despite
co2 levels increasing?

what is this? i'm amazed about this documentary and these reactions. typical
catholic. who cares who or what is to blame. global warming is not in dispute and
what are we going to do about it? i'm totally open for any cause, i don't give a
rats ... about the cause other than it may help to the solution and that is why this
documentary falls flat. it is purely anti, but not constructive.
people who think we are scammed out of lot of money are not realistic, we always be
scammed out of a lot of money. prices of gas are due to our economic system. measures
against pollution are never bad. alternatives for oil are needed at some point, 50 or
a 150 years. get realistic and see the problems instead of whatever propaganda who or
what is causing it. there is no debate about the problems. always looking for the
differences instead of the convergence, it's so tiring.
