" bbc three has had a mixed time of it when it comes to comedy. for every summer
heights high and mighty boosh, there is a thieves like us. don't remember it?
well of course you don't. it was awful. luckily, the awful ones like that
generally don't get beyond the pilot, but others, such as how not to live your
life, do well enough at that stage to get commissioned as a full series.
it's heartening that the makers of this programme have spent a good ten months
since that original pilot putting the series together, as it shows care and
dedication, so i'm looking forward to this one. written by and starring comedian
dan clark, the sitcom follows the life and woes of don, a neurotic
thirty-something whose thoughts we get to see played out "in the form of quick
fire fantasy sequences". here's a quick clip to get a taster of things to come"
it's pretty funny, but just 28 min... very familiar if you have seen the "10
reasons not to do drugs on a date"-clip that i've seen many times, although i
can't remember whether it was on mtv or comedy central. if you've seen that
clip and didn't like it, then don't download. otherwise it's something to
check out.
oof. when did stupidity become the norm for humor. please stop with crap like
this and bring back the real stuff. this is brain dead writing a la ron burgundy.
wow! i said something pointless and stupid. it must be funny!
i thought i'd give it a try. it was gross. will farrell gross. bleck.
on the other hand, if you like will farrell, you might like this. i couldn't
make it through the first episode myself, but then again i'm not attracted to
stories about d***heads. to each his own.

99 per cent of humour is based on stupidity , i wouldn't even know where to
start when quoting shows that are almost entirely based on stupidity. i'll just
mention a few - the simpsons , family guy , 3rd rock from the sun , married with
children, american idol , the office to mention only a few of thousands.
stupidity in it's various forms is the foundation of most humour what it comes
down to is if you can relate to the characters and go along with the stupidity.
what i find more insulting are supposed " reality " shows that any intelligent
person can see are clearly heavily scripted from start to finish , they are the
true bottom dwellers of the tv world.
i think this show is off to a brilliant start and i will keep watching while the
standard stays the same. i think it's very very funny.
i usually like will ferrell style humour, but this really put my teeth on edge,
although i guess it will appeal to people who find obnoxious morons insulting
other people entertaining. it also drove me nuts that the "5 things you
shouldn't do when..." splashes were so ugly / gramatically incorrect, but then
again i go around correcting people's apostrophe crimes...
