what's going on with this? anyone know?

i think you may be referring to the first 31 seconds. for some reason, during
the "previously on", the the picture is framed with a black border. at first you
might think this is the fault of the recording device but if you notice the
tv14dls rating in the top left corner, it is in the correct position for a ws
picture. then as soon as the theme starts, the black frame is gone. i believe
there's nothing wrong with the file. download with confidence. much thanks to
those who do such a great job, so that we may enjoy our tv.

at least there is a "previously on." for most series, including this one, it's
cut out, something i never understood. that extra 30 or 45 seconds would simply
not make a material difference to the overall quality of the video.

same for cutting off the last half second of a program (in general, not this
program) before it fades to black (or cuts to credits), leaving people to
wonder if they missed something when they actually haven't.

correct, there is nothing wrong. that is exactly how it is broadcast 🙂

i wouldn't go that far. on this show 30 or 45 seconds does not make a
difference because it compresses so well but on high detail, bright, high motion
shows the previously on scenes can eat up a ton of bits.


as for the last few seconds it is easy to zone the credits with an extra low
bitrate. the last few seconds and fade to black then credits can be very
powerful and is normally where the music needs time to roll off for full impact.

i wish all the groups left a little more in at the end.
