i'm a little surprised, but can't say i'm too disappointed.
atlantis rocked in season 1, but it's just been downhill ever since. the plot
device that kept it interesting (cut off from earth) disappeared and ever since,
i just haven't been as motivated to care.
then they start killing off the good characters... it's probably a good time to
bow out gracefully, before it becomes a complete joke like sg-1 did after
richard dean anderson left.
the only thing that disappoints me is that this was one of the last "hard"
sci-fi shows on tv. galactica is ending too (thank god, that one jumped the
shark harder than any show i've ever seen before), and eureka doesn't really
count. i guess all we've got left is terminator: sarah connor chronicles. sadly,
sci-fi just doesn't sell well enough anymore.
cancel the shows, bring out movies on dvd that are only for sale and never
broadcasted, seems sci-fi is milking the cows (and the milk-drinkers). and
still people keep telling us to "buy the dvd's" to support the series, even on
this site! yeah, that really helps. just like sending a bunch of nuts. what
are you all, stupid???
sure i'm disappointed, sg atlantis was a good show and indeed the only 'hard
sci-fi' show on television. since i can not receive the show, it was a must-
download for me. however, if sg atlantis will be replaced by a decent new show
i can live with the cancellation. like mithrandirbo said, the show isn't
getting any better. and i doubt they can pull it up in a sixth of seventh
season.
oh, and don't let yourself get guilted to buy the dvd's. it's what the big
boys want you to do.
wow. i haven't been so stunned by a cancellation since veronica mars (and i
still haven't gotten over that one). fuck me sideways. scifi is making a big
mistake.
surely the network calling itself the sci-fi channel is violating some sort of
consumer law? mean their announced new shows make it more of a reality
channel.
i will buy the dvd of the movie if it comes to that...
but so far it is non confirmed sources telling them this shit...
i support all sg-1 and affiliated shows/movies....
this show is the bomb.. as was sg-1...
loved both movies and will love what follows
edit: yeah don't buy the dvds... it is what the big boys want you to do
me... i am a supporter of the franchise that gives me good shit
amen.
i have never stopped enjoying either series, and still think the stories and
characters are solid from a writing standpoint. it was just good sci-fi.
i also like watching eureka, but it doesn't compare to a franchise like stargate.
i guess i'll just have to look forward to the dvds, and hope that whatever
potential new series they are considering, is great and can please the morons at
the sci-fi channel. -_-
