5 gigs!?! that's one big download. normally i don't watch the olympics not
really being into sport but being from scotland and hearing that there were
pipers at the opening ceremony has piqued my interest.
i hope it's not the nbc version, they cut out easily one half of the ceremonies
and altered the order for the parade of nations. totally screwed the us viewer
in order to fit for time and commercials.
yes it's aussie and at 4hrs 12mins it's practically the whole thing (should be
4.5 hours i think for 100% of the ceremony).
the only issue i have with this is the bitrate. at just 3000kbps it's a bit
flaky in parts for a 720p release and given the >dvd size, it should really be
done to 8gb to look its best ...
it's kind of funny how, during the historic march of china, nbc
skipped right where the cultural
revolution and the great leap forward occurred... guess they thought many us
viewers would go, "what.
china's communist?! oh my g-a-w-d! our banknote-holding overlords are
communist?! aaaaahhh!!"
it would have been interesting to see how they showed it, actually. and taiwan's
birth.
umm freaken awesome that you're making it available. i won't go on each
torrent's comments and say
thanks thanks thanks thanks, but imagine i did, i'm that happy!
what does nbc have to do with the direction of the opening ceremonies?
chinese filmmaker zhang yimou was the director for the opening ceremonies. it
was all approved by the beijing olympic committee and the communist government.
they intentionally left out the last 60 years of chinese history. i think the
100,000 security personnel on the streets are a good reminder of the
totalitarian regime.
i'm not one to defend the mainstream media, but wtf are you talking about?
okay, yeah the nbc version cut out some stuff. but the australian version, there
is no commentary! there are officially 3 commentators but they don't explain
anything! in the nbc version, they have two experts who explain everything, and
without them, you can't understand anything, from historical meanings to behind
the scene directing facts. i'd take the nbc version over the 7 network version
any day.
