based on the story lines in some of these missing episodes, it seems like they
were meant to air earlier in the season but were held back. there are certain
events that happened to characters in the run on fox that seem to not have
happened yet in these episodes.

the dvds are keeping the missing episodes on a separate disc apparently.
but yeah, as they're released here, episode 15 was supposed to be episode 9,
episode 16 was supposed to be episode 11 and episode 17 was supposed to be the
season 2 premiere. fox had told them to start production on season 2
apparently, but then they changed their mind. episode 17 was filmed only a few
days before the actual finale (episode 14) aired.
