althought i havent downloaded it and watched it myself, i believe the
following discription is it. this is based that it aired last night in
australia on abc.

it airs on digital tonight so if there may be a digital version coming.

there was this on the abc website at the end of last month

the hollowmen - a 6x30min political comedy/drama series - has today been
commissioned by abc tv.
the series, produced by working dog, will be filmed in melbourne and canberra
and will go into production in the next few weeks. it will soon be part of
abc1’s highly successful wednesday night lineup and will be repeated on abc2.

the hollowmenn focuses on the workings of an internal think tank, set up by
the prime minister, whose responsibility is long-term policy vision. the
unit’s task is to stop worrying about tomorrow's headlines, and to start
worrying about next week’s.

kim dalton, director of television said “abc tv is pleased and proud to be
working again with working dog, which is unquestionably one of the most
successful tv comedy teams in australia.

“abc audiences still remember and talk about frontline, and they are going to
love the hollowmen – a timely and very funny political satire,” he said.

michael hirsh, working dog’s executive producer said "we have been constantly
talking to abc tv over the years. the abc has been very welcoming to our ideas
and it’s exciting to be working together on the hollowmen.”

show summary
------------------
the hollowmen is a comedy-drama set in the offices of the central policy unit,
a special think tank personally set up by the prime minister in the most
important job of all - getting re-elected.

their brief is "long term vision"; to stop worrying about tomorrow's
headlines, and focus on next week's

i wonder if this show is modeled after yes, minister and yes, prime minister,
two outstanding and brilliantly comedic shows that aired in england years ago.
(these are collectors items i highly recommend buying.) if so, and if it
measures up, it should be good.

here's a link btw (which includes a trailer)

that was the first thing i thought too... although i can't really see this
measure up, brittish comedy is a kind of its own... i'm downloading now, it
could be good if it's not a complete copy

@ sagov

i don't think british humour is a kind of it's own , it's very simliar to aussie
humour . now if it was an american version of a british show then you'd have a
point .

reminds me of the uk show the thick of it.

working dog productions also did a show back in the nineties called frontline satirizing aust. current
affairs shows. good to see them back!

this is clasic working dog comedy. great script. if you loved frontline then
you will love this. the humour is alot darker in this show but along the same
sort of line. great stuff.

yeah, this is much more like "the thick of it" than "yes, minister". and as
others have mentioned, working dog's "frontline" (3 series x 13 episodes) is
also worth tracking down.
