chris addison (the thick of it) brings bbc two a brand new, multi-camera surreal
comedy. st. dunstan's university is hiring out their state of the art new lab,
"the arnolfini research laboratory". the aim is to research projects and conduct
scientific experiments to bring the college money and respect. unfortunately,
they hire it out to the "lab rats", who specalise in less than usual science.
6 episodes have been ordered for season 1.
the show is being produced by bbc.

sounds awful, but with the current quality of what's on telly these days i might
just try it, hopefully this light bulb joke will make it worthwhile, lol.
i loved it, very funny not very straight series about science jokes. requires
some working knowledge or many of the jokes may go over your head (for example
the lightbulb that lit with no apparant powersource and petrified the dean,
lemon battery, etc)
whoa. i closed my eyes for a second after mock the week and thought i\'d fallen
into a time warp. jokes with rusty lee in them for god\'s sake! and the
lightblub, don\'t jml make those? the whole thing made me go scurrying back to
big bang theory for comfort. i don\'t think i\'ll be making a second trip. armando
iannucci, i shake my head in disappointment.....
bbc comedy -- there's your oxymoron right there...
i'm personally not wasting a single byte of bandwidth on something produced by
the bbc comedy unit. the only way they can achieve anything is to sell the show
to the us and have it remade by professionals.
what a load of shit, their attempts of making a nerdy show like
the it crowd have failed lol
i miss "the it crowd" from the bbc. now
that was a great british comedy, which is a rather unique feat.

i disagree...the it
crowd was sold to the us, but ended up getting canned before it ever went to
air. they should just make more of the bbc version, it was freakin'
hilarious. "hello, this is it, did you try to reboot it yet?" (ok, maybe not
that *exact* phrase, but it was something like that.)
i'll give this one a go, but i'm not expecting much.
the uk version of the it crowd was produced by channel 4, not bbc. i don't think
remaking shows for the american audience works tbh, just like any other show
they've tried it with. they should show the uk version in america before they
try to rewrite it, rather than assume that americans won't "get" the humor.
i actually found this fairly funny. "my esteemed colleague, bill ray
cyrus"...not bad at all. not great, but definitely better than hald the crap
on tv, and at least it's not another reality show pos.
the remote control gag was funny too. all in all, definitely watchable.
im gonna carry on watching it, its like a british big bang theory, without the
sex.
bbc is famous for its comedy, both on tv and on radio 4, every american remake
of a british comedy series has sucked. from red dwarf to coupling to the
present. americans just cant write british comedy they try and change it too
much to fit in and lose the essence they bought the rights for.
