factory is the story of four guys who grew up together in the same small town,
who drank a lot of beer, and dreamt of one day making a name for themselves.
the four guys are still friends and still drink a lot of beer, only now they
all work in the town's local factory. when not figuring out new ways to avoid
doing their jobs, the guys are usually trying to appease their wives and
girlfriends, without great success. when a work-related accident creates a job
opening, the guys have to decide who should get the promotion, which
unfortunately might require actual work.
the first episode was pretty disappointing. i thought the commercials were better than the actual show.
maybe i'll give it a couple more episodes before i ditch it.
i predict this to be "the office" for sheeple. ;-d
the writing and performing is quite intelligent. definitely not too sheeplish.
however, the first episode wasn't that funny.
and the cameraman needs to learn where the iris control on his camera is, and
what it's used for. they could have managed hdv rather than dv too. dv is dead.
the sound is also poorly recorded. there's a lot of background noise they didn't
bother to filter out. and it's very bouncy in places.
poor technical execution aside, it's quite well directed etc. it just needs to
be funnier.
any idea why the first 15-and-a-half minutes are in 4:3 aspect ratio
and the rest is in 16:9 (using black bars)? i mean, does anyone know
why it (apparently) aired like this?
