**** this program chronicles the story of the phoenix mars lander, which
launched in august 2007 and is scheduled to land on the martian surface on may
25, 2008. the program features interviews with scientists who discuss the
spacecraft's custom instruments and the intricate preparations that preceded the
launch. after touchdown, the lander will collect soil and ice samples to search
for trace organics and for evidence of how water has changed the subsurface
environment. the scientists hope to determine where the water on mars went. ****

nuh mate it's not the same old thing at all. the truth is the space program is
small change compared to things like the war and your defense budget. it costs
you guys shit all taxes.

good doco. lets hope they start putting more money into the space program

not to mention it's the only thing that can save mankind on the long run
on a long enough timeline, earth is doomed - we've just been lucky so far

that true. for the 2008 fiscal year the us spent $481.4 billion on defence and a
mere $17.3 billion on nasa.

yeah, right... they've spent it on defence *g* more like they spent it on
invasion *g* i guess the moment they find intelligent aliens somewhere in space
the us will spend many more billions in space-invasion.. urm, i mean space
defence... urm space-exploration of course.

sad but most likely true.. humanity doesn't have a very good track record. ours
is a repetitive history of war and genocide, we've only started to come to our
senses, but the nonsense (bush et al) side is still winning.

yet another expample where winning is loosing.
georgie, you can keep earth with condi when it\'s all scortched up.
i\'ll be moving to the suburbs (mars), well, if phoenix finds water.
and for the record, mars has no mass distruction weapons.
