while i'm certainly not in favor of them whining i don't understand why the
budget would require fox and the producers to cut the season short. surely they
already make an assload of money from the dvds?

personally, i think it's ridiculous for the company to bitch about those 500
dollars an episode. heck, 20 times 500 is 10.000$, that's just 6.500€
(1,55$=1€). i suppose the speakers have to take several jobs to support their
families.

it's 500,000 - that's five hundred thousand us dollars - not 500, as in five
hundred dollars! that's a half million dollars! per episode?!?!?!?!?! x's *20*,
which is a shortened season?!?!?!!?!?!?

bite me! i've been watching since the tracy ullman show days, and from the
start. (yeah, i don't really care if that dates me!) i've enjoyed the show, and
the actors, and still do. but a half a million dollars?!?!?!?! *per show?!?!?*
x's 20?!?!?!?!

sorry, that's just f'n greedy! and undeserved for anyone. i think 360,000 is
damn greedy, frankly! even with the usd falling like rocks, no one person needs
that much money. not in a world where people are starving and living on the
streets, not in when famines and political environments contribute to so much
suffering in the world.

i echo sentiments above. cancel the damn thing. 20 years is a long enough run.
let them get their dvd and syndication residuals and call it a day. matt's got
better things to do with futurerama, anyway!

the simpsons imo is one of the most over rated shows in history. there was a
time it was funny, but that was 10-15 years ago.

seinfeld is a helluva lot. but so is $500,000. they're making $360,000 as it
is per episode ... that's about 6 times as much as the average annual household
income.

i think law or something states that with the expiration of a contract, any new
contract signed must be at a higher price. that's why shows that last a long
time get so expensive to produce. they normally sign a multi-year deal at
first, 5-7 years maybe. then they renew every 1 year. it's when the contracts
need renewing every single year that the show starts to get costly. but
slapping another $140,000 on top is just greedy.
