In Durham he learns how the Cathedral was built by the Normans just after the Battle of Hastings in 1066 and discovers the fascinating story behind the 900-year-old North Door, which played a fascinating role for criminals seeking sanctuary. In Coventry he learns of the suffering of the cathedral during WWII and the devastating raid on 14th November 1940 which destroyed the 1000-year-old medieval building. Finally, Pat travels to Lincoln which for over 200 years was the tallest building in the entire world, until its spire collapsed in 1549.
